Daily Quiz anyone?
|
If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells?
I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature.
I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers.
You mark your own answers and post your score.
I will then record the scores and at the end of the "lockdown" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves)
Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions.
Any interest?

Phylicia Rashad was married to my NFL team's player Ahmad Rashad who was part of the "Miracle at the Met" when he caught a 'Hail Mary' that resulted in a come-from-behind 28–23 victory and a Central Division title for the Vikings.

Just seen a slight error. Obviously wrote the quiz prior to the Queen's passing hence why Camilla is not down as Queen Consort!

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?

Zeb, think it's made a bit easier for us because we know that if mum had come through the stroke she would have just been left bed bound with dementia, which is no life at all, so it's a source of comfort that she isn't going to have to stare at a ceiling for god knows how many years like her sister did. I'm keeping busy with funerals, wakes and Registrars etc, it will probably hot me a little more when it's all done. Unfortunately what we didn't really know is that mum chose a rather expensive solicitor firm to be Executors. Mum has a reasonable estate and her financial advisor had a word with the solicitor I think and they have stated that they will charge hourly rates instead of a % of the estate. I didn't know some solicitors if executors can charge between 3& and 5% of the state! WTF! Nothing you can do either as it's in the will and prior to death it's none of my business. it was entirely up to mum. I suspect she did it so I didn't have to deal with Probate but I think if a Solicitor is going to be an Executor for an older person some sort of cost agreement should be worked out for future Executorship when the Will is written otherwise it's an unknown. When I saw the hourly rates - £400 plus VAT for a partner, to £245 plus VAT for a senior solicitor and £150 plus VAT for a paralegal I nearly had a flipping heart attack! Maybe a percentage would be cheaper!! Thankfully the solicitor is happy for me to do all the stuff like funeral, registering the death, informing all banks, financial institutions and HMRC etc and just concentrating on probate. Plus mum was savvy enough to place half the estate in trust. That's what dementia rips away, only 6/7 years ago was this strong intelligent woman, and all that wiped out in a matter of years. Thankfully mum had 80 odd years of good health. I really feel for those who get dementia earlier in life, it's a horrendous predicament.
