Daily Quiz anyone?
If you are stuck at home and bored like me.
How about exercising the old grey cells?

I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature.

I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers.

You mark your own answers and post your score.

I will then record the scores and at the end of the "lockdown" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves)

Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions.

Any interest?

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Thanks all, I'm back!! Motherboard had died, not sure if it was when I cleaned it a few weeks ago with an air duster as sometimes the duster shoots out liquid rather than air, who knows! Anyway the repairer had a second hand case, motherboard, heat sink etc lying around so it all looks pretty new in there now and he configured it so just turned it on and back as good as new. Bit quicker too. £216 well spent as hopefully it will last a while now. Saved by the processor apparently as it's old but decent. Will have to start thinking about a new PC though at some stage, but this at least now works!!

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
A failrly miserable 7 today thanks.

I had a motherboard die (MSI NVidia graphics) and managed to pick up a second hand one for not much on Ebay.
Swapping the second hand one in was fiddly but it booted forst time wiht no issues.
I also weird issues once where the PC used to die randomly and this got more frequent and finally it would not boot at all. This turned out to be the power supply and was a easy fix. Also got a nice modular power supply (Be Quiet dar power) that lasted me 12 years and two further PCs before it, literally, went bang. Luckliy I had a spare knocking around.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Thanks Cough. Seems there is an issue with the motherboard which is annoying since it was brand new two years ago!! Anyway.

Half a point each if you put Jimmy Walker or Callum Davenport as neither got on.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
I wouldn't bother with an image, I've changed m/boards without reinstalling everything, I just took the old HDD transferred it to the new machine and let Windows use it's plug and play magic. You may have to reboot it a few times to get a clean device manager, if not, the most important drivers are the chipset drivers, which should come with your new m/board. Good luck anyway.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
I should really buy a new one but just can't be arse3 with re installing everything from scratch. Was bad enough last year. Have one of these image back ups but because the mother board was the thing that went true image was useless! I just back up all my important docs onto a USB stick.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Yeah I know what you mean, I built mine from scratch about 2 years ago, brand new case, m/board, graphics card and ssd and a couple of hdds and it has more lights than Blackpool.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Cough, yes it's a possibility as recently it was not firing up enough so I left it on and overnight it crashed. Took front off but the button had vanished! Taken it to repairer to get new case and anything else it needs. Had a new motherboard and graphics card last year. Bit like Triggers Broom!!!

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Gents. Normal quiz suspended today as the start button on my PC has died so can't access quizzes. So off the top of my head today. Playing Sheffield United this week and of course they moaned and got compensation after our Great Escape several years ago. Name as many West Ham players as you can who played any part on the pitch in that famous 1-0 win at Old Trafford on the last day to keep us up that season.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
This is why I love doing this quiz. Learning shizzle answering the questions and researching them for my Thursday quiz. (Though a lot of the questions I write are things I just know. Unkess like today a queation or fact gives me an idea for a topic and I have to look a few things up. Knew quite a few though. Like the moon, sun, west ham and bizarrely the new Zealand one)

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
I thought it was about 40 and when you think that Brighton to Glasgow is 461 miles I felt a bit of an idiot!! Suspect living on what is a relatively small island doesn't help you comprehend large distances.
