Schwarzenegger v Stallone
Who was the ultimate bad ass of the 80/90s?

Arnie starred in the greatest 80s action movie ever in Predator, then Terminator, Terminator 2 and Total Recall but Sly was Rambo, Rocky and Demolition Man amongst others.

Is Sly the better actor but does Arnie have the greater charisma?

Re: Schwarzenegger v Stallone
Stallone refused to fly in the 80s because he was terrified of a terrorist hijacking, the spaz voiced fanny.

Arnie did fly in the 80s and thus wins handsomely.

Can't really forgive Stallone for his involvement with the 1995 Judge Dredd film. He even took his helmet off!

The 2012 one with Karl Urban got it right.

Without the Rocky films in my life I honestly think I would have missed out on something pretty great movie wise.
I loved Twins and Predator and Arnie was always watchable but Stallone for me wins it, even though he looked like a midget fighting Apollo and a lego man against Ivan Drago. Stallone's acting especially in the first movie was raw and real i could smell the sweat and meat in the locker room through the screen.

"private thoughts or response on here are basically pointless, as it changes nothing."

That is a fact. About every post on here. Every post is a private thought before we post it.

" A fucking M rated film??? A new fucking low for you coming out with that."

Honestly a confusing couple of sentences.

M was the rating after PG, before R (basically 14A now - Canada used to be quite strict on violence). It was a throw away thought from my memory. With USSR vs Canada/US in sports being hyped as good vs evil, it seemed a really important movie. For a pretty little kid seeing it without permission on VHS. Sorry, if that is upsetting and a new low. ?

Arnie for me

His whole personality embodies that brash overly positive 80s America

Proper breath of fresh air compared to all the dark miserable shit about these days

ioc - A fucking M rated film??? A new fucking low for you coming out with that. You ARE an irritating, nauseating cunt, it's true. It doesn't matter how you take that or react to that because what I have said is a simple FACT, so your private thoughts or response on here are basically pointless, as it changes nothing.

Back on topic, easily Stallone just for the Rocky and Rambo characters alone. Arnie did the Terminators, which are shit films for geeks, plus a few very average comedies. Stallone is also a better actor and writer/producer.

Stallone for me. Rocky was a life-defining film and I must have watched it a dozen times in the cinema and another dozen on video etc.. I even tried drinking raw eggs and going for a run. I was 15 and unfit - I threw up after thirty yards.

He wrote it too and was nominated for an Oscar.

He's actually a very good actor, it's just that he has shit diction. He's superb in Cop Land.

I love Arnie too, but not as much.

I love a good debate with you, mate.

When they are done they are done. I learned a bit and maybe got some practice in.

I don't however let our arguments worry me to point of talking about you on randoms post on this board. Something to consider.

As was mine, mate.

I will probably keep naturally saying "mom" because that is who my mother is to me.

My ramble was just to say I appreciate you noticing.

Yeah, that post might have been tongue in cheek...

Just for clarity, that is an expression and also something not 100% literal.

I'm sorry that bothers you so much, mate.

I will try to remember "mother" in the future, since it you notice so it much.

As I said, never had much of chance to get in Arnold in his heyday.

I do love bad ripoffs of his movies these days though.

Check out:

Deadly Prey
Deadliest Prey
Alien from the Deep
Mutant Species
Future War
Lady Terminator

to name a few.

It does do harm though...I keep seeing 'Mom' on the corona virus thread and my blood starts to boil, because all those fucking years thinking what an appalling way of spelling it until it was pointed out by a yank that there is no 'u' in mother.

So now when I see 'Mom' and there's no comeback, it's almost as if they are gloating.

He's just a slightly saner version of Hugh Montieth. why get wound up?

It's therapy for him, and does no real harm.
