Re: Coughing and spitting at people
So she was obese and had underlying health issues in 2019
And still had the same in 2020

What caused her death? What changed?
Would she have died (with no change in her obesity or other conditions) if coronavirus wasn’t around ?

Probably correct, except for the dying of the virus bit.

A big payout solves all manner of BAME health issues that changing hygiene habits & traditional lifestyle could never do..

So he didn't spit on her, management no record of her reporting it on day.... She died of virus because of obesity and under lining heath problems.... And family hoping for big payday with false claim?

"I think that nobody would have noticed any difference had this COVID-19 hysteria never been started."

In a nutshell!

Without the TV telling people to be fearful or even so much as informing them, nobody would have noticed.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
Please define 'infections'.

Specifically, does it include those that are ASYMPTOMATIC?

Or those who have had a bit of a dry cough, such as myself.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
And that’s 50,000 more WITH the lockdown restrictions in place
You can imagine if you had lockdown in a normal year when corona wasn’t about you’d have less flu deaths and probably more deaths from cancer etc because people aren’t going in to be treated. Plus more deaths associated with people suffering trauma , mental problems etc due to isolation.
However incompetently the UK lockdown has been implemented at the moment it sounds like we have restricted the damage to 50,000 excess deaths.

I understand countries like Germany & Italy have wound back to 300 to 400 infections a day so are unlocking.
The UK’s level is 2,000 (or maybe 8,000) but the government feels they have to follow suit even though we haven’t dropped down their 5 level scale below level 4 yet.
Didn’t see the briefing but understand that scale diagram has now disappeared from the slide show.

Actually, that is just England and Wales.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
Sven. It is quite easy to look up the figures on ons.gov.uk.

Up to the end of March this year, the average number of registered deaths in the UK was more or less the same as the five year average. In the seven weeks from the end of March to the middle of May, there were more than 50,000 more deaths than average.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
Yes.

I think that nobody would have noticed any difference had this COVID-19 hysteria never been started.

Tens (perhaps hundreds) of millions of people now without jobs would still be gainfully employed, and we'd all be out and about enjoying the sunshine.

Liverpool would have their hands on the PL trophy, and we'd all be ready for the Euros.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
Given the level of deaths in the UK in total (flu, corona, getting hit by bus) in a normal March to May period how has this March to May compared?
And what would March to May 2020 have been without any lockdown and people going about their normal business avoiding vulnerable people ?

I don’t know the answers to those questions
Any thoughts?

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
No, I do not.

It has had similar impact to seasonal influenza, and has no way warranted the decimation of the world economy.

Those at risk (that is, people with pre-existing conditions) needed to be cosseted. The rest of us should've been able to continue pretty much as normal, whilst taking precautions when in the presence of the 'at risk'.

Yes, but you do accept that the Corona pandemic has killed an excessive amount of people and has a dangerous ease of transmission?*

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
Spitting at someone is assault legally, regardless of Covid, the person spat at has to want to prosecute which in this case can't happen as the woman has died. Regardless though the police should prosecute as it's a scummy thing to do.

Your heart disease/truck scenario illustrates my point.
Death certificates are showing cause of death as COVID-19 (having testing positive under autopsy) even though the deceased was involved in a fatal road accident.

Regarding a "pre existing condition that you are managing and hasn't killed you", I am talking about conditions which see your life in the balance, and something else being thrown into the mix tips that balance.
This is often the case with influenza which accounts for thousands each year.

Re: Coughing and spitting at people
No problem with that.
I’d also make spitting in the street a £5,000 fine.
