Jeremy Ngakia Right back
Ngakia has apparently rejected to sign a new deal and is set to walk away from West Ham on June 30. If we stay up we'll have the worst pair of fullbacks in the league.. AGAIN.

I’m fairly sure no other clubs have problems with their young players wanting more money.
They all play for peanuts and the love of the game. Man City Man U and Liverpool are losing young players they don’t want to lose to other clubs

could be the best paid youngstar at the club next season
and of course he was disapointed when the owners loose talk had no reality,

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
I take in a load of youth team and reserve games and I can tell you that ngaKIA has never played on the wing. He's always been a right-sided defender.

Even played centre back a few times and did ok.

Unfortunately yes. Fortunately there are no games.

Is Fredericks now back fit and ready to be picked?

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
In this situation, I don’t get why Ngakia doesn’t just demand an 18 month deal. If he had anything about him he’d agree to a short term deal for £5k a week. Within 12 months the club will either be throwing £30k at him, or he’s free to move on.

Winger? Wing back? Right back?

Hard to know as the lad has only played 12 competitive games from U23 level! So although he seemed to do well, even our shit academy must know how generally good he is. He only stepped up from under18s last year. He seems to be uncapped (or even called up) at any international level.

Comparisons with Rice, a clear talent, seem totally premature. Good to hear that £20k a week claim is false. Even a quarter of that (with bonuses for first team) would make him a very rich 19 year old. If he (and his agent) can't see that and don't appreciate the opportunity he's been given... Well, maybe he would be happier sitting on the bench somewhere lower down the leagues.

Didn’t realise he was a winger!
That explains a lot. That’s why he’s so comfortable going forward and his defensive positioning was a bit suspect. That’s actually even more impressive really.

Also explains why he may not have been in their plans as we seemed to sign loads of right wingers over the years.

Get in where you fit in...

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
He put a better cross in that any of our alleged wingers have all season in one of our home games. I was unaware he was a RW.

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
I doubt there's anyone on here who's seen him play right wing. He might be complete crap playing there.

Not sure that should be used as a yard stick for his wage demands.

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
Alot of people forgetting that Ngakia is originally a right winger.......he has performed superbly at right back against the best team in europe but may even be a good option for us at RW......especially if Yarmolenko goes

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
We have to stay clear from the like of Clyne.

With Ngakia, the devil is in the detail. He definitely shouldn't be expecting to get any more than £10k a week basic. Some would argue that £5k a week is more than enough in the current climate. Maybe a compromise deal can be done.

Newcastle's right-back Javier Manquillo (26) is out of contract this summer.
You can bet that Sullivan is eyeing another possible (poor) freebie.

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
See that ex bloke said that he is not asking for as much as 20k a week.

Surely if it is around 15k a week it is worth it even if he does not turn out to be a first team regular?

The lad definitely has potential.

That's why I don't want us to sign Clyne. Another Wilshere.

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
I think Covid is going to stop the "110k a week injury prone but good when their fit" signing (Wilshire) rather than 20k for 5yrs 19yr old promising right back.

There are lots of players who have gone on to be massive but wouldn't be there if it wasn't for someone else's injury (Kane, Rashford etc...) so the fact that this guy came in and hit the ground running is really promising. Especially in a relegation battle against some of the best teams in the world.

I cant believe we would let him go for practically pennies on what someone like Wilshire is costing us. Its mind boggling.

Quite relieved that I won’t be seeing Fredericks in person. What a shocker.

Re: Jeremy Ngakia Right back
"That aside, its odd how people are not grasping how football will change after Covid19. A 19 year old who has made 4 first team appearances expecting a long term tidy contract? West Ham are due to lose 10's of millions due to this situation, this average prospect is the last of their worries."

Surely Covid means it makes more sense to tie down our promising youngsters as we'll have less cash for reinforcements? Of course the agent knows they have more bargaining power.....theyd be silly not to use that as leverage. But if West Ham let him go and want another RB.....it will cost more than Ngakia
