Jokes aside he’s taken two very difficult jobs, both of which he was on a hiding to nothing.

Probably deserves a crack with a more stable club, but him keep blaming racism doesn’t make him likeable.

He left Macclesfield Town because they weren't paying him. I think they owed him something like £150k. I expect he's worrying the same would happen at Southend.

To be fair, even though his record was poor (0.66 points per game is clearly shit) they only had 5 points from the 14 games before he took over, which is 0.35 points per game. I reckon they were always going down and not even a top manager like Moyes could save them.

Or do it for nothing just to get experience and noticed for a better job

To be honest I think any ambitious manager is wasting his time with the park players of League 1 & 2.
Better off looking for a coaching staff job at Championship (or above) club & then turning that into a managers job.
Who was the last manager who went from League 1 or 2 to the Premier league?
Chris Wilder who took Sheff Utd through is probably the only one.
And obviously Sheff Utd had been a Premier league club in recent history
