The thing with Var
I don't know if I'm being an idiot (most probably) but the main issue for me with Var is that the referee who makes the original call doesn't have any say in the VAR call.
These are important moments in the match and the referee in my opinion should be the one making the final call.
How can you have Atkinson running around the pitch watching the game in real time, calling fouls, advantages etc etc, but yet all goals, penalties etc are checked by another referee who might interpret the rules differently to the match officials.
The referee should use Var as a last resort, keep the var officials for the blatant issues and anything may have missed. It has.become the be all and end all of the decisions and its not even made by the designated ref.
