No away fans 2020/21
Premier League stadiums are likely to remain closed to away fans despite clubs informing supporters they hope to have them back from October 3.

Arsenal are among the clubs to have sent correspondence to fans informing them of their intention to welcome back supporters from the first weekend of October, as per Government guidelines.

Their circular read: 'We are continuing to work hard with the Premier League and UK Government on plans to bring fans back to stadiums, initially with reduced capacities.'

Premier League chiefs held constructive talks with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) on Thursday — including Secretary of State Oliver Dowden (right) — to begin finalising the details of welcoming back fans.

The DCMS are expected to reveal details of the next set of test events imminently, with Brighton volunteering their Amex Stadium as a potential venue.

However, away fans face being barred from matches for most of the season with top-flight clubs planning to prioritise season ticket holders until stadiums are permitted to operate at full capacity.

The Government is set to restrict attendances to between 20 and 30 per cent during the first phase of fans returning, and Sportsmail has been told there is unlikely to be any initial provision made for away fans, with the League working on a bespoke, one-size-fits-all plan for each club based on stadium design, transport links and local infection rates.

Though the article doesn't say for the whole season. Click bait, but thought I'd Eddie B nonetheless.

I used to enjoy the ‘edgy‘ atmospheres at most football matches during The 70’s to early 90’s, particularly at the away matches. Nowadays most atmospheres resemble a trip to Disney World.

We were also once renowned for our sharp wit and ironic humour. Anyone now displaying this is told by newer fans, especially on social media, to ‘go and support Spurs.’

Anyone remember the ‘Walking in a Dowie wonderland’ song? We’d be told off now for not ‘supporting’ or for being negative towards one of our own players 🤦🏼‍♂️

How many Premier league stadia have as much empty space surrounding them?
Once you leave Stratford station how many people do you see who are not going to the match?

Not satisfied with making the matchday experience shit beyond belief up till now with smoking bans, no loud uncouth noises or bad words that may upset some minority class that hardly adds £1 to the clubs revenue, no fun allowed policies of the past few years now there will be social distancing® to ensure the collective tribal experience that has already gone will never return.

May as well let them have a beer or two to mitigate the sterile atmosphere.

Maybe pubs will need to offer free cocaine to punters to encourage them to enjoy the post-fun new normal experience, though that may fuck with the track and trace paranoia that will inevitably creep in.

its possible beers will be allowed in seating, to help with social distancing / crowding at bars. Brighton are leading with this, too

With our ground in the middle of nowhere and our world class transport links we will presumably be allowed a full ground under this ‘bespoke one size fits all’ masterplan from Oct 1st

You suspect away fans will be banned until they are up to full capacity on the basis of complications of trying to get fans in and out without having to deal with segregation
Could well see that being the entire season.

imagine paying full whack to go and watch GSB's west ham under david moyes in the olympic shithole where you can't even sit next to your mates or have any away supporters to have some verbals with.
