they could promote academy players to be with the squad to sit on the bench. That is what he does when he is not injured

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Di Canio wasn't an injury prone croak...he just got stitched up by an extremely limp wristed referee

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Apparently some MLS sides interested but only willing to pay a part of his wages.

CHL - in most cases, correct.

But there was Di Canio......

We don't learn. And let's not pretend this recruitment stupidity started with the Daves. GOLDEN RULE: if the 'top' clubs are looking to offload a player who 'potentially' should still be in his prime / in their first team, then it is an absolute racing cert there is a damn good reason for it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. There is a slim chance it'll come good, and a massive likelihood that it will not.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Well that friendly agent was definitely also Diop's agent (or at least one working for the same agency), that's a matter of record. I'm not saying it happened, but it would make a certain amount of sense.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
I hope Anderson, Lanzini, Haller and Cresswell also come good.

5 of them with Wilshere, almost half a team.

To be fair, I'm not equally despairing of all of them.

I suppose we are stuck with him so may as well hope he comes good.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
At least Carroll had a couple of good games for us.

I have a very vague recollection of Wilshere having a couple of good minutes.

I'd love to eat my hat over him in the future.

Feel free to remind me of these words.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
I don’t even think that was it. We seriously lacked number in the team and along came and we probably called up a friendly agent to see what was available.

Seems like a lack of planning and imagination more than anything else.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Sven, Pony,

I still have a lot of time for the theory that Diop and Sanchez having the same agents is the solution to the latter deal - it simply makes very little sense in any other scenario. I know there were a couple of months between the deals but if we were given an 'in' with Diop on the understanding that we would also sign Sanchez (or even that we would if he hadn't found a club by later in the window)...well maybe it's tinfoil hat stuff but I'm not sure it is much crazier than imagining that anyone watched him play and thought he was a Premier League standard player even after his previous disastrous spell.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
The season before he joined us he played 40 games for arsenal.

28 games for Bournemouth the season before.

It’s just typical that he slumped again as soon as he signed for us.

Shame as he was class in his early years but hopefully we have learnt our lesson with this type of signing.

We have Reid on the books until 2023. Not kicked a ball for us in two and half years.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
The wikshire thing was a foregone conclusion, everyone knew the score.

Dyer broke his leg at a cup match when there was only a few hundred of us there, I think that might explain why there was less sympathy.

I'm slightly worried about the Aaron Ramsey rumour...given his ridiculous wages even the dwarf isn't that stupid although I won't be holding my breath just yet

Wilshere is a ridiculous waste. Very predictable.

Don't forget MegaCrock
Carroll...total cost per game/goal...

OVER £50 million Total Cost

142 starts
34 goals

Outrageous...

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Dyer was a known crock. I did feel sorry for him when he broke his leg though, that was unrelated to his previous crock list. Wilshire is a much worse signing though. I can't think of a worse one.

I think Dyer played 38 games the previous season for Newcastle. Hardly a crock.

Bournemouth didn't want him ,probably couldn't afford the wages but still that should have got the alarm bells ringing.
Any other Premier side im sure it did

Pellegrini honestly was a disastrous appointment. Nearly ruined the club.

Re: Wilshere...15millionquid Wasted...
Pellegrini and his mate properly pulled our pants down and made a fortune out of us. The Roberto transfer especially is dodgy as fuck, shady dealings.
