Roglic will have thrown himself off a cliff before then, quite rightly too. That time trial has probably finished him.

I like Ned. I've read all but one of his books and been to two of his live shows. He's a bit chippy but has softened up over the years. The TDF podcast is fun, especially with Pete Kennaugh crashing into it like a Labrador puppy.

The other podcast is a little more cerebral and goes off at tangents into philosophy and astrophysics or whatever else is on the boys' minds. But they're both well-read so it's not as bad as it sounds from the outside.

Ned Boulting is meant to be commentating on the American feed for the Giro but that's only a week away.

Meanwhile the Jumbo trio of Rog, Dumi and Kuss have been selected for la Vuelta.

Millar is growing on me. His pseudo intellectual bollocks gets a bit tiresome after a while though. He had a few more stories about stupid shit that went on in the peloton when he was riding this year, no doubt encouraged by Kennaugh who is clearly an absolute loose cannon.

Ned gets almost every bunch sprint wrong, calling out the wrong rider multiple times, the plum. You cant help but like the bloke though.

Re: WHO Fantasy Tour de France 2020
Yeah, I liked the way that Peter Kennaugh had a pretty robust view on racing and spritning in particular as you'd expect from someone who had a decent record in the Spring races.
David Millar has perfect recall of all his races (almost Boycottesque with his innings). There was one TDF stage where David Millar remembered that he and Peter Kennuagh had trailed in together as a pair way down years ago on the same parcours. Kennaugh couldn't remeber it at all and Ned Boulting looked it up. Millar was right.

As soon as I found out there was no Wiggo on the back of a motorbike this year Eurosport was always going to be second choice. Pete Kennaugh on ITV was a surprisingly entertaining listen for the most part. Might have to suffer Eurosport for the Giro though.....

Poor Ned. I imagine alcohol was involved.
Shame that ITV4 team didn't have full coverage. I watched Eurosport's early stage coverage (thanks lockdown) - Carlton Kirby and Sean "number of" Kelly are terrible. David Millar gives a road captain's view of the stage as it unfolds and, much as Sean Kelly's achivements were way more as a rider, he does not have the same insight. Also Eurosport have this other knob whose entire job appears to be reading from the TDF Guide Touristique when a chateau gets picked out by the camera. Lazy TV

Ouch. That'll teach him for naffing up the commentary every day!

Is that podcast any good? I listen to the ITV one during the tour which is shambolic but entertaining.

Re: WHO Fantasy Tour de France 2020
I listened to Ned Boulting and David Miller's "Never Strays Far" podcast earlier today. After the last stage's coverage was recorded Ned left the production studios, rode his bike back to his hotel (Leeds Castle) and plunged off the bridge into the castle's moat eight feet below. Multiple fractures of his upper arm and a broken shoulder blade. Operation next week.

Remind me of when I rode London to Paris in 2018. 300 miles of Kentish and French roads navigated safely then one of our group hit the deck whilst looking up at the Eiffel Tower and another lost it trying to bunny hop onto the pavement outside our Parisien hotel (five yards from sticking our bikes in the van).

Zero surprise if Quintana is a dope.

To be fair he's doing well to still be competitive well into his 60s anyway, with or without it.

They have to be the only riders in history that are getting worse on the gear. Pair of twats if this is true. Dayer is only there to do Nairo's laundry anyway isn't he? He's a dreadful rider.

Nairo and Dayer Quintana in trouble following a police raid on Arkea-Samsic's hotel. It was Nairo's room that was searched and there have been two arrests.
Oh deary me.

Crazy crazy stage!

Amazing what Pogacar did, Roglic had the best team as well but Pogacar did most of it on his own, Roglic was destroyed, He looked spent when he changed bikes.

Supreme sportsmanship to come over and congratulate him when he was being interviewed.

Re: WHO Fantasy Tour de France 2020
Didn't see that coming today. Simultaneously the most unlikely and saddest thing I've seen for a while. Roglic looked destroyed when he crossed the line, the poor cunt.

Good stuff from Ineos today.
Carapaz and, especially, Kwiatkowski looked delighted today at the finish. Totally deserved too for both of them.
One thing I have noticed about the ITV coverage is that someone in the production team really like Kraut Rock. Third time they have used Neu! this week and Can also put in an appearence.

Caught up with a few days highlights last night - Sundays finish was epic.

Today looks brutal too.

Makes my 50 mile pootles through the Surrey Hills seem like a trip down the shops..........

Re: WHO Fantasy Tour de France 2020
It's going to be really refreshing to have someone from a different team winning. Plus it's funny that it looks unlikely to be a Frenchman, with none anywhere near.

Can Roglic (and Pogacar) keep it up? Today and tomorrow are surely the deciding days and they should be fascinating. I bloody love a massive mountain stage.

I like that Yates, Porte and a few others are in striking distance

Bernal has abandoned.
I guess the writing was on the wall as soon as he cracked Aru-style. That and his back and knee are crocked according to the Ineos press release.

Re: WHO Fantasy Tour de France 2020
Bit of a bullshit relegation. Worse happens in the peloton every two minutes. He should have taken that today, fucks his green jersey ambitions too, he's gonna have to pull out some moves to catch the boring Irishman.
