Any self employed people know about VAT when buying a van?
Tried google but still find conflicting information on this. I'm looking to replace my current van, a lot of the Van's for sale have VAT added. I'm assuming that because I'm not VAT registered I can't claim that back?

Thanks for anyone who can help.

Go temporary vat registered for 3 or 6 months claim it all back then deregister yourself for vat

As long as your customers can absorb the 20% VAT you'll have to charge on your goods and services, in the time you are VAT registered.

Or you can absorb losing 1/6th of your income, if you keep your prices the same, in the period of VAT registration.

No you can't claim it back unless you are VAT registered.
