Honest expectations on transfer business...
Some of these are blindingly obvious but...

We will not sign Tarkowski.

We will not sign any of our number 1 targets.

We will not sign a creative player and rely on Anderson and Lanzini coming good. They won't.

We will sign a 30+ year old free transfer.

We will make a loan signing
- if they are decent, we won't have any chance of signing them at the end of the loan
- if they are no good, we will have the option but won't want to sign them.

We will once again leave ourselves short either up front or at full back, or worse, both.

If we buy a striker with a half decent scoring record (Bowen), he will be played on the wing and we'll continue with a winger up front.

Any more genuine predictions?

I dont know what the fuss is about Tarkowski, he is a thug and all his previous sins will come home to roost if he signs for West Ham. He only gets away with it now because of the northern biased refs.

Maybe a case of who would want to come to West Ham? Well anyone decent that is, the Burnley fella wasn’t keen by all accounts.

We are maybe better to try and sign some fringe players from the big clubs who need game time and to prove themselves, although the wages could be problematic especially if it’s signings they have made that have not worked out.

Fredericks was a Sully special...he gave him a 50,000 a week contract for one and a half seasons of Championship football...I bet he still thinks he signed a bargain.

We will make one 20m signing at the last minute in a position we don't really need as the usual Sullivan reaction to external criticism. We will get shit loan deals to cover the positions we actually need covering.

All indications point to us spending no or very little money.

I doubt they even see the fullback positions as areas that need upgrading.

I'm expecting a loan back up striker who will as usual be shit and a cheap aging British CB who's no better than what we have already.

gph

Yeah he blows very hot or very cold and he keeps getting niggly injuries...like I said 2 or 3 years ago I would have been quite pleased to have a street fighter like him up front but now might be too late.

"Fairly sure Hayden has signed a new improved deal?"

He has. Grasshopper is best to ignore. One of the several posters on here that crave attention.

Re: Honest expectations on transfer business...
Deeney's already in that phase where he has runs of good and bad games, isn't he?

Wasn't he dropped by Watford at one point last season?

He's still got "it", but only in spells.

Re: Honest expectations on transfer business...
I would have liked Deeney to have signed 2 or 3 years ago but I suppose he can still be useful at 32. Him and Antonio on song would make for a bruisingly effective combination. They would knock a few defenders out of their stride anyway.

I guess we are 'better' than Troy Deeney? I actually like him and think he wouldn't be a bad back-up striker. Hustles and bustles and gives us something 'different' from the bench. Good leadership skills, too.

Danny Rose lives in Essex and settled for a long time. He is a bit moany, but better than Cresswell, buy or loan him

The Diangana money will be used to buy a defender worse than those we already have.

And West Brom won't regret paying it.

Rice will leave by the end of the window.
He will be replaced by haayden from Newcastle

A left back will be brought in and a centre back

Not convinced on the right back at this state.

Apparently Fredericks and Johnson are considered OK at this point.

I’d get Danny rose in on loan. Seems like him and mourinho don’t get on, definitely a step up

Re: Honest expectations on transfer business...
I don't think we'll get a forward in.

Apparently Moyes was going to play that young striker we got from Man u against Charlton but he was injured a few days ago.

It seems he was rated alongside Greenwood but he knew Greenwood was blocking his way so he jumped ship.

Moyes saw him bang a couple in against Southend.

If that's the case i don't see the point of bringing Brewster in

Re: Honest expectations on transfer business...
Im confident we'll definitely sign at least 2 but probably 4 players before the deadline - but they'll be a load of old jaff that no one wants and some foreign punts (who are the only players we remain an attractive prospect to).
