Battle Of Britain Day.
I'll be having a few for the Few tonight.

Cue Polish quotes from the Film.."Repeat Please".

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew –
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Biggest mistake Adolf made was getting all high and mighty when a few bombs got dropped on Berlin... he decided to give our cities a bit of payback and gave our RAF bases time to breathe and get back up to scratch... oh and the other reason we won is that we had more Black labradors than them...

Brave men, and let's not forget all the women involved, the waaf played it's part as well. Sadly we won't see the like of that generation again.

Plus, if the Russians and Yanks hadn't won the war with no help from Britain, a month later Hitler would have nuked us. With missiles launched from their sites in Holland that the RAF definitely hadn't obliterated.

Oh! And Bomber Harris was a villain and always was and Churchill is a cunt now, too.

I think I saw the same documentary.

We were very lucky, fluke even nothing to do with the skill or bravery of our pilots.

I turned it off.

Rubbish Britain. Saved by the wind, saved by the fog, saved by German mistakes. You'd almost think the self-hating people who made these programmes were educated and indoctrinated at British universities...

I've been an avid historian on ww2 and particularly this event.I did see this programe a few years back and watched again yesterday (thought they looked younger)

What I didnt know if forget was how the weather helped turn the the tide. Giving the raf a much need rest but also the 90 mph head wind that slowed the Luftwaffe down on the attack.

Here's to Blighty weather.

Sickening to think that teaching kids this side of our history is seen as a negative and not at all helpful. Will probably be a hate crime to mention it within the next 5 years.

RIP to the bravest of the brave.

Re: Battle Of Britain Day.
That was made 10 years ago, the BBC wouldn’t make it now.

Those men are basically forgotten by this generation, it’s all about social media influencers and old slags who sleep with thick footballers.

God bless everyone of those brave men who died so we could be free.
