Let’s give David Moyes some credit
|
All the crap he is putting up with and doing well. Great displays against Arsenal and Wolves. Good end to last season to keep us up.
Happy days enjoy it! HAMMERS
(I looked for the old credit to Moyes thread but could not find it!)

Wasn't keen on his reappointment (early games back showed exactly why) but, fair play, he's turned it around. In points terms.
Still find us turgid to watch often, but he's dealing with a compromised squad thanks to Sulli going mad(der) with Pellegrini.
Well done Moyes.
Sullivan will no doubt stymie it all by buying a "gift" player on huge pay that Moyes' doesn't even want. COYI.

I'm please he is not happy after the last game that he believes we have more to give in a attacking sense .

Johnny,
Yep
In fact I am at the stage where I am waiting to have it cruelly whipped away from me, GSM to piss him off and he walks or the Snodders move to become a 25,000 point deduction, a £1 Billion fine and having to send our two best players to represent the EPL at the Hunger games.
You know typical West Ham just like my dreams stuff

“Some of our fans are starting to sound like Spurs fans though, expecting Cruyff total football every fucking game”
It’s been that way for quite a while now, to be honest.
Part of me thinks that some of our ‘fans’ are a big part of the toxicity surrounding the club.
It’s not coincidence that we are currently 3rd in the home league table without fans in the ground.

It would depend on how many games you are chosing for your own beliefs/desires. All I can say is it’s good it’s improving.

It's ridiculous to not give Moyes unqualified congratulations in all honesty.
2 and a half years ago I expected him to stay but still felt it was a little short sighted. But I was happy with what he had done after Bilic and thought he deserved his new contract.
I felt not much different this time, felt short term and to do a job but he has exceeded all my expectations. Not only are we creating leads and holding them to see the game out, we are also actually playing some good stuff. The players look bang up for it and he's getting the max out of all of them, a benchmark of any good manager.
Plus I love how his substitutions actually achieve exactly what they are designed too. Anyone comparing him with Sam is deluded, just needed to watch last nights game to see that.
Long may it continue and I fully expect new contracts for him and his backroom colleagues, they deserve that, especially if we finish anywhere near 55-60 points.
Some of our fans are starting to sound like Spurs fans though, expecting Cruyff total football every fucking game

I hope the aim is for 60 points.. which it should be every season with the right management and spending.

Had we beaten Brighton and Palace, both games we should have won we'd be right up in the top 4 mix which would be frankly remarkable.
Time for the BERKS to back a manager at a key time and get him a striker to push us on in the second half of the season otherwise we're a few poorer results from drifting down in to the wasteland of 10-14th.
Which is unfortunately probably where the shittest owners about want us to be.

We've only looked poor once, the first half against the yids
Getting a string of results in December and January is a great achievement for West Ham, with our lack of depth in the squad. We've been fortunate with injuries so far, fit players don't get injured so much, maybe. We've hit a couple of winnable games but we had Southampton and Everton away as well recently. And those winnable games — they've still got to be won, against packed defences and cloggers like Burnley.

Recent losses, Chelsea and Man U, we were in both of those contests and the results flattered them, as did Arsenal

What a difference a few months makes!
I reversed the order of posts so that the September posts were first and there's some laughable differences in attitudes...

What I like about Moyes is his single-mindedness, he has a plan and sticks to it. He knows we have limitations, so he adopts a way of working that suits the players we have.
When he has his own team in situ watch us flourish and play a more fluid style
Btw, there is no way Benrahma was a Moyes requested player, yet another Sullivan choice

Big shout out to the backroom staff as well, seems Nolan, Pearce, Irvine et al are doing a grand job also.
