we should sign Dawson on a permanent asap. the likes of man u, chelsea and arsenal dont mind having players 30 yrs and older, so why should we mind?, especially like dawson they get stuck in and do a good job. get him signed i say.

Speaking of Wattord, I remember when Quina joined them and scored a goal and a few on here were in meltdown about how we should have kept him. Now on loan to a Spanish team and scored the ‘goal of the month’ recently.

Speaking of Watford, was a fee ever agreed for Ngakia or did it go to a tribunal?

Liverpool were recently made to pay 4m for poaching Harvey Elliot who had only made 2 PL appearances for Fulham as a 16 year old. Surely we should be looking at getting a similar amount.

Poor old Watford. Can't catch a break can they?

Poached our 'excellent' young full back and dumped a past it old shitter they couldn't wait to get rid of on us. They were proper smug about it too.

How's that worked out for ya, you two bob cunts?

I believe it was Soucek that recommended Coufal to Moyes.

Was thinking if we could shift Reid and don't renew Balbuena's contract we may go back in for him. Will only have a year left on his contract come the summer so shouldn't be the ridiculous prices quoted last time round.

Tarkowski is a very good player, if we signed him our support would change their views on him in much the same way they have on Dawson. He is a proper defender but decent on the ball as well, for me if he is available we should in for him again.

This is not instead of Dawson who has quickly become my favourite player, great to see a defender that loves defending and is a leader on the pitch.

Seems like a decent chap.

Man Utd have slapped a £40m tag on £120k a week Henderson.

I reckon he'll be there next season based on those figures.

In terms of getting Lingard in my concern is that our interest in him and potentially Henderson might be used by ManU as a lever for Rice.
On Dawson he is 30 so what length of contract might we sign him on?

Thanks Lee. Must admit I had not heard of him but good job. Hopefully someone has bought him a pint or two.

Re: Craig Dawson signed season - long loan
We have young promising Centre Backs Baptist, Alese and Cardosa surely we need to nurture these guys whilst maintaining the stability of the Senior squad defenders and make sure there is a pathway for these young players to progress in to the first team.

The priority must be to get Lingard in permanently and get another striker in.

Re: Craig Dawson signed season - long loan
He definitely reminds me of Ginge in his no nonsense style of play. Does a lot of talking and organising but doesn't show so much passion, which isn't a problem. I suspect he might have the odd rickets in him, though he hasn't had one yet, so long may that continue. Definitely should be signed permanently.

So the main decision regarding CBs is whether or not to extend Balbuena's contract, which is up this summer. I suppose it depends on whether they want to sign a younger upgrade, which I don't think should be a priority. Elves might come into the equation if they think he's ready to step up.

Jordan Miles was apparently the man who identified him, based on what MOYES wanted.

Re: Craig Dawson signed season - long loan
I'd love to know who was responsible for identifying Soucek and Coufal. Whoever it was has done a very good job.

Having said that it's not really a difficult job... Soucek was Czech player of the year for 2019 and football writers player of the year in 2020.

Re: Craig Dawson signed season - long loan
Moyes ( hopefully ) seems to have broken that agent / Sullivan axis of evil when it comes to buying overrated and over expensive dross based on agent approval

That is what I love the most about Moyes, he is his own person

He holds ALL the cards with Sullivan now, long may that continue

This nonsense of zero scouts was abysmal for such a large Premier league outfit

Re: Craig Dawson signed season - long loan
Has he always been this good or have both sides just found each other a perfect match? Remember him as a "decent" defender for West Brom and know he put in a transfer request there but just can't see how he didn't get a game at Watford!
