Antonio starts for me, he would of had 2 weeks training which should be enough to start a match
Dont see Haller getting any change out of Mings, he isnt strong enough

Would like to see Haller start... also don't want to risk Antonio and he breaks down - Could give Haller confidence and make him fight to keep his place
That way if Antonio does come on he can have an impact but I personally believe we have enough to win regardless
Would love to see us 1-0 up or 0-0 and then put on Antonio and Benrahma for the last 25 to either get another / get the win
That's the sort of mentality we need

That said, Antonio probs will start on the bench and they will roll out the 'being careful' line, which is basically Moyes all over. The cunt is as predictable as night following day. Let's hope it doesn't backfire as this is a great chance for us to really push on.

''Don’t change a winning team unless through an injury. Even if Antonio is fit Haller should still start. It’s about man management''
Sentimental, cliched nonsense. If Antonio is fit then he has to start, no question. It's about playing your best striker and arguably your best player, not man management.

Don’t change a winning team unless through an injury. Even if Antonio is fit Haller should still start. It’s about man management you don’t drop someone who scores a scorcher or change a back line that keeps a clean sheet. That’s how Leicester won the league and the way Wolves play, keeping the same team. If a player gets injured or has a stinker and gets subbed or the team gets stuffed fair enough otherwise leave alone.

People are going WAY over the top with Cresswell.
There's no chance 5'7" Cresswell will be playing centre back for England any time soon.

I'd just stick with the team that's doing well at the moment and only lost one in seven. (Away to the champions)
Why change for the sake of it? And who deserves to be dropped? Antonio for Haller when he's back is a no brainer but other than that, no point.
Would be nice to see Benny get more minutes but there's no need to rush him in. The same approach worked well with Bowen,

Why would you replace cress well he makes the system tick , Dior might be a better out n out CB , but the way cress is playing he'll be in the England squad next

True enough Sum a Ding
Personally, I'd prefer they'd try it in training and keep it in reserve, but I take your point.

The reason I'm labouring this point, is because unfortunately, I don't think we can rely on Antonio to stay fit. Also, I can't see us buying anyone similar anytime soon.

You may or may not be right, Surf.
But, as we've seen with Cresswell and Masuaku, the change in formation could benefit Diop.
Stranger things have happened.

That kid at Oxford did to Diop what Bobby Zamora did to Sol Campbell - totally destroyed him. He'd done a bit up until then, although nothing special, but since that day he has been a liability. And he's had more opportunity than Haller.

Its not just about Haller, it's about Benrahma and Diop, too.
Diop playing at his best is better than Cresswell or Masuaku at their best. Surely you try and maximise your best players.
The defensive formation wouldn't change dramatically. Diop would give more solidity stepping out of defence, thus giving Benrahma and Bowen licence to be more attacking. What you'd lose in creativity from Cresswell stepping out of defence and pinging a ball into the box, you'd gain with Benrahma, Bowen and Haller being a lot closer together. As I said earlier, Cresswell would still be on the pitch to cross the ball, it would just be from a wider position,
I'd still of course expect the front 3 to press from the front

There's something I can't quite place, but something very West Ham than makes me think that Fornals should always be one of the first names on the team sheet
He brings something to the team, maybe it's belief, maybe it's (now) self confidence, but we need players with whatever attitude he has in the side, even if its for only 60 minutes.

I love this site. From what I've read today Haller is A DISGRACE because he was expensive and there is no way he will ever improve.
At the very same time, the entire (significantly improved) defence should be dismantled in order to accommodate a player who has done next to nothing for us but cost a lot of money.

No Mex, it would be 5.
When I say Soucek drop back, I mean get into a more defensive midfield position.

Was that a suggestion to have 6 defenders on the pitch? Sounds crazy. I will say though that I like Diop going forward and remember that he has played some good through balls into the box, made some good runs forward with the ball, made some good shots from outside the area and good headers in the box.

“if Fornals gets dropped, would that be the end for him as a hammer?”
What an odd question.

Balbeuna was a real worry for me when he came in as he looked really shaky, slow and made poor decisions. Playing back to back games in a settled system has seen a good improvement, more composure and some decent tackling. His distribution is still pretty poor and he did play the Sheffield lad onside by not being in line for the chance that crashed off the bar so he is still a weak link but having said that Diop was making constant errors prior to his isolation so maybe it's good to get him out the firing line and so give Balbeuna some confidence. I certainly would not make changes unless enforced by injury, a run of bad form or fatigue. Clean sheets have been a rarity in the past and we have chalked up a few already. At least we are not having to talk about Dawson who hasn't even made the bench I think.
