Scalextric - talk to me.
Did you have a set?

Being a spoilt little shit my parents got me the Le Mans one that had the gold and silver Porches with working head lights.

Got it from Caveliers on Green Street (now Peacocks) which was opened by our own Sir Trev.

If you didn't have this when you were a kid, were you even a kid?

A mate had the World Championship edition, 4 car track, and all the accessories, as a kid it seemed the best thing since sliced bread.

Royal - Always loved spending hours on them when I was a kid on holiday in Spain. Most bars had at least one.

Space Invaders? Pfft. When I was a kid it was PONG. You would plug the console into your telly. It was RIVETING.

Haha, remember it being introduced in our common room and queuing with half the school for a go with rocking all over the world blaring out on the radio. About a week later it was virtually redundant

I used to love the Hyper Olympics arcade machine. Had one in my student bar along with Defender and a pinball machine (who's name I can't remember) that had a brilliant five ball mode if you could trigger it.
High Jump was the one I could never master and discovered that button bashing crocked fingers was a thing.

The old Atari ones were the most resilient. I think I still have the muscle memory to compete effectively at the 110 hurdles 35-odd years later.

I had Daley Thompson’s decathlon on the Commodore 64, pissed my Dad off having to constantly replace joysticks broken by playing it.

We had that the square ball made up of about 4 pixels there was fast and slow. Squash on fast by far the most challenging as you turned the control dial frantically

Being outside and mucking about was officially ruined when a posh mate got given an Atari and Space Invaders became a thing...maybe 1980/1981...you then sat in the MATES lounge waiting your turn to last 5 mins, while the host lasted an hour...boring as fuck.

I remember once putting a finger on each of the terminals of the transformer and feeling the tingle shoot up my arm.
