Team for Sheffield United.
This will be a good test of whether or not we're the new, resilient, Moyes's West Ham, or the old, flaky version that bends over backwards to allow other sides to end a bad run. The Blades will be well up for this and we will have to match their commitment all over the pitch.

Apparently Antonio is fit but have we learned the lessons from rushing him back too quickly in the past? I expect him to be on the bench but introduced to the action if we need him. So barring any injuries from international duty, the only selection dilemma is probably whether to start Fornals or Benrahma. I expect Moyes to stick with Fornals but would be surprised if Benrahma doesn't feature with at least 20 minutes to go.

Fabianski
Balbuena Ogbonna Cresswell
Coufal Soucek Rice Masuaku
Bowen Haller Fornals

Subs: Randolph, Fredericks, Diop, Noble, Lanzini, Benrahma, Yarmolenko.

Lertie

You are completely wrong about their manager.

Alan’s Sunday newspapers (includes West Ham) had Antonio starting, but in contradiction also said Antonio was doubtful to start.

Some are saying he might rest Balbuena because of the very long distances he has had to travel this week. I wouldn't mind seeing Diop play - he'll certainly have a big inventive to try to win his place back.

Good post Derby

I do agree with you! We did struggle to attack against Fulham and I guess it will be similar against Sheffield United. It’s something we see a lot at West Ham, not just with Moyes’s new team formation. We play better against teams that attack and give us more space and then struggle against teams that defend in numbers and sit back. We push their entire team back and then struggle to get through. Against Fulham we didn’t provide Haller with decent chances to score and he was criticised for not scoring. But then I think we’re right in thinking Antonio would have done better. I don’t think we were lucky to win against Fulham, we played better than they did, especially in attacking. We gave them more space as we pushed further forward and Fulham were not able to use that to score. Fulham ‘s finishing wasn’t good. I strongly disagreed with their penalty, it was soft and I was mightily relieved when Fabianski saved that poor effort.

I do try and post positively, thats how I am and when I see so much negative crap on here it makes me worse, more positive. I don’t agree that I am negative about suggestions to improve. Unless you mean manger out threads and the like. Actually years ago I stopped even reading manager out threads, they are just crap and I cannot be bothered with such shit.

With respect Mex, you never, ever have anything negative to say about the club. When someone comes up with an area we could improve in, you rush in to assure everyone that everything's fine and we don't need to improve anywhere.

For me, too much of the Fulham game was spent passing it around the back five, then eventually Coufal, Cressers or Arthur would put a cross in. It looked like we were struggling to open up a team that was happy for a draw. It was a far cry from the rapid, exciting counter-attacking football we were playing against better sides with Antonio up front.

I think we were lucky to get away with a win against Fulham. But then, I'm guessing based on your posting history you'd disagree with that?

Can't believe the respect being shown on this site, Sheffield United are a shit club, who have a shit team, a fucking moron as a manager and are bottom of the table with 1 point.
Yet all I'm hearing is "yes I would be very happy with a point".
Small wonder this club achieves fuck all year in year out, the lack of ambition is endemic

i cant imagine Moyes will change the starting XI unless someone has a knock.

hopefully Antonio will be available off the bench.
that VAR goal last season was one of the biggest kicks in the nuts i've experienced at football - i want revenge!!

I'd like if possible to see Lanzini get a decent run. That goal may have given him confidence but he has hardly kicked a ball since.

It will be interesting to see if he starts Haller.
I wonder if that will be good for him mentally?

If he has to drag him off for Antonio I wonder if he will recover from that?

He scored a good goal in international week though..

Do you like complaining about being bullied? It's just that it seems a bit rich from someone who regularly insults and belittles other posters.

It's been a while since you complained about being bullied. Laughable every time from someone who routinely wishes death on other posters.
