I don’t think you lack back up, Sven. Plenty of times myself and others agree with you on shit and say so. The rest is just banter and I’m sure you don’t need defending on that front as you’re more than capable of dishing it out.
Meanwhile, another superb captain’s innings from Root. Nobody else in the batting line up has covered themselves with glory so far.
I’m glad Burns is returning for India, as Crawley can then drop back down to 3. He didn’t do too badly there against Pakistan. Although, if Sibley keeps playing like he is, fuck knows what they will do.
Shame Pope is not back also as I’d like to see England starting to play what they believe to be their strongest line up.

The Aussies get to play county cricket two years before an Ashes series in England. The same opportunity has never been afforded to England.
Anybody good enough for the England test team or in the frame, will be playing for England (like now) or on a Lion's tour, so can't be in Australia, playing Sheffield Shield at the same tame.
Besides, as the Aussies have only won the Ashes once in 20 years in England, it is incumbent upon the ECB, to allow Aussies in to practice in the counties, to try and make the Ashes in England competitive.

You are conveniently forgetting one thing . The Aussies get to play county cricket two years before an Ashes series in England. The same opportunity has never been afforded to England. So you get the chance to learn the conditions and study the Duke, while we get fuck all when we land n your shores.

Cheers, lowermarsh SON
As I have pointed out several times I grew up in Australia and my first experience of cricket was being taken to the WACA to watch Western Australia play & see a bloke called Lillee.
I WAS accused a year or two back of being a GLORY HUNTER who only supported Australia because THEY WON ALL THE TIME. Obviously they don't and I even surprised myself by working out that when I first followed Test cricket England held the Ashes and did so for the next 3 years. England actually held the Ashes for 14 of the first 18 years that I followed Australia. That said I am stuck with them ..... Davey Warner, 'Garry' Lyon, Tim Paine and all

Sven is a stalwart of the forum and contributes a fuck of a lot more than most. He can support whoever the fuck he wants and he stands up to the inevitable chin music that comes his way for doing so.
Fair dinkum.

I do lack some back up on here I must say
Anyway .... BACK TO THE CRICKET Massive morning session tomorrow. As said I dont think England will be wanting to chase any more than 200 on a 5th day pitch especially with the openers struggling so much. Whether Sri Lanka will be good enough to support Embuldenyia is another matter. The rest havent looked anything special

for what it's worth, it's good to have someone like Sven on here, otherwise how would we have any banter between us?
I can't think of anyone else on here who's an Aussie plastic or not and is into cricket?

Side I hope I add to these threads by presenting the other side and some points of argument.
At least stops them spiralling into some sort of boring circle jerk about how lovely Jimmy GRANDADerson is and admiring his skilfully dyed hair

Sven is one of those poor people who’s been brought up a bit nomadic so he thinks this makes him different to the rest. He propbably wears Hawaiian shirts all through winter.......that kind of thing..... but in fairness to him he sticks to his role very well and makes some good counter points.

I think you’ll find the majority of English posters on the cricket threads have expressed how much of a cunt Swann is at some point. I don’t think any England fan has any issue with calling out the cunts in their own camp, and there have been a few over the years.

The rest of the batting letting Root down Sri Lanka need to get England chasing 200+ on the last day after that late rally

If you're Engish or Aussie, maybe. But from a neutral perspective - I don't know?
I can't think of any outstanding Brazil v Argie games, but that's because I don't really follow S American football. But speak to any Argie or Brazilian and they'll tell you about the rivalry between their two countries.

Sven - haven't you been deported from Australia, you're here too you thick numpty.
Except you're an English man desperately trying to be an Aussie yet living in your home country, fucking bizarre

To be fair... I agree with Sven on the rivalry piece. Certainly in international sport anyway.

You seem reluctant to give an opinion Put your head above the parapet , SON, once in a while
Getting deported from Australia seems to have drained you of any confidence

I was at that game coffee. An Aussie came into the Central bar with his green and yellow floppy hat on singing Aussie, Aussie that didn't work out well for him

I genuinely cant think of a Brazil v Argentina football match of any importance or relevance
Scotland hate England but havent been a competitive rival for 40 years
England v Germany /West Germany is probably closest but a lot of the rivalry is based on THE WAR The football rivalry is based on three matches in 1966, 1990 & 1996. And 2010 & 1972 at a pinch
