WHO Poll
Q: 2021/22 What competition should we prioritise this season?
a. The league is our bread & butter, so this year let's have a club sandwich
b. We're owed an FA Cup after Gerrard nicked our last one in 06, our name's on it in 22
c. A bye to the League Cup 3rd round gives us a good start, let's make it count
d. The Europa is our best ticket to the Champions League, this is the one
e. What's wrong with you, let's do the lot, has the quadruple ever been done

Haller - Gone To Ajax
We're becoming a good side now. Relegation should'nt be a problem now, but to kick on to a solid top 10 side Moyes has to solve the problem with Haller. He doesn't do anything particularly well. Yes he'll score every now and then but as an all round prom striker - very poor indeed.

Shame, but he's not up to the job and will hold us back from progressing.

Two rights making a wrong, then.

I would say he was culturally unsuited. We are culturally a proper unit now. One man can fuck a team.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
I think the main issue was work rate and trying. We have had players before which were bang average, but you could see them at least trying and giving their all.
Okay, sometimes certain set ups don’t suit certain players if that is an excuse. But other than that most times the cunt didn’t appear to be trying and just going through the motions. It wasn’t anything about body language, you can see if someone is trying or not and for us he was only giving 50% and was glad to see him fuck off with that lack of commitment.

Not apparently, it was a blatant fact to anyone who watched him live for us

These are the same people who would dismiss a Landrover Defender as shit if they took it across Europe or an Aston Martin Vantage if it cant cross a field.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
Prefers to run/stroll in behind, we are set up to run, full pelt, onto especially under Moyes.

Not a crap player, just wasnt right for our style of play best for all that he is gone.

I note with idle interest and no malice that he is doing well and am glad they are in Champions League because if we ever met them in Europe you just know he's on for a hat trick

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
Whoever would have thought that Ajax's Total Football would bring out the best in Haller (someone who is obviously shit and can only score tap ins and is lazy and doesn't do anything around the pitch... apparently)?

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
Anyone watched Ajax and can say how the team is set up and where Haller plays?
Is he the main forward or playing behind a forward, bit like Benrahma and Bowen do for us sometimes?
I think two things were wrong when Haller was with us, we played him as a lone forward, which he was crap at and he did not run enough.

Haller like many from the bundesliga are not as good as they appear and massively overpriced. It's a league I wouldn't buy from., France Italy Spain Portugal etc yes , Germany mainly a big no.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
Still dont regret it at all.
I dont think we would have finished anywhere near Europe with him etc.\\

The thing about the PL is that every players weaknesses get found out pretty quickly. Things you can get away with in other leagues, competitions or in certain scenario's you just cant over here.

Haller is smart to get out as quickly as possible. And i doubt he'd ever come back to this league. Its not for him.

His problem came when he was still playing shit under Moyes and the rest kicked on.

He wasn't a scapegoat then. He was just shit.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
Everyone was playing shit under the Chilean fraud in the end. I just think being a forward, French and costing 40m he was a bit of scapegoat.

If he had stayed, we’d still be scratching our heads now still wondering how to accommodate him.
We are better, and the move seems to have helped him.

He’s gone Trundle.

Maybe you need to accept that and maybe you’re the one who needs to take your own advice and stop banging on about it?

Scored 1 less bread and butter goal than PAYET did for us in a similar time.

Obviously shit.

He looks like he's sulking for Ajax too, he also looked like that for Frankfurt from what I saw.

It's his natural demeanour..

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
He was shit for us, very shit because he only gave us 50%, that’s a crime in itself.
Bollocks to systems etc, whatever happens you put that shirt on you give 110%, he didn’t, glad to get shot of him.
Since he has gone, the team have done better, he has done better, it’s a win win for both concerned.
He looked like he was sulking for us, and he was. Haven’t got the time of day for him. Wanker.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
I don't byt this "he was shit for us". Towards the end yes but not all the time. It's was obvious he didn't fit into Moyes' long term plans and his attitude stank. Shit he wasn't. As he is proving.

Badly managed by Moyes. If we had kept him we'd be in the CL now.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax
He was shit for us and showed no sign of ever turning it 'round. I'm fairly confident that if we still had him he'd still be shit.

Can we lock this thread now please.

Re: Haller - Gone To Ajax

“Haller believes he is a Zidane-type figure. A playmaker from deep and a floater who can pop up to score. That’s why he’s scored so few headers in his career and lacks the technique. Heading is just not a core part of his game.

France breeds these footballers in their system. Playmakers, even big guys like Haller become them. There is no stigma on size. “

I knew I had read it somewhere. Turns out it was on here from an unreliable poster so let’s move on 😂
