So basically Mings should have ducked and let the ball go.
The fact that he has tried to play and an offside player has come from behind him and nicked it has gone against him. He hasn’t even played back towards his own goal. How does that benefit the defending team?
We all know that an offside player can be played on by a deliberate back pass but that rule doesn’t seem right in this instance.

The first goal was offside and they have found a rule to justify giving it.
This deliberate playing of the call is meant to cover back passes which an offside player intercepts not a player coming back from 20 yards offside and nicking the ball off the toe of a defender bringing the ball down on his chest.

hard to see how the first was not offside. Are they thinking that because Mings gets it and takes a couple of touches it means that it is somehow a new passage of play?
Well at least it got Peter Walton to raise his first disagreement with the officials out of 100 games :-)
And I agree there is something about the diving of Grealish and Villa and their odious manager Smith that makes the injustice raise a smile. But VAR is all part of the rigged game it seems?.
