Re: Midweek matches
So basically Mings should have ducked and let the ball go.

The fact that he has tried to play and an offside player has come from behind him and nicked it has gone against him. He hasn’t even played back towards his own goal. How does that benefit the defending team?

We all know that an offside player can be played on by a deliberate back pass but that rule doesn’t seem right in this instance.

Re: Midweek matches
That first Man City goal exposes football for being full of such a thick bunch of no nothing cunts pundits managers players managers and even the ex ref on the tv and not one of them knows the rules ...!! I’m pretty sure this doesn’t happen in other sports that the people being paid millions don’t even know the fucking rules

Re: Midweek matches
Couldn't believe all the pundits and the ex-ref don't know the rules. Always a goal and never offside. Mings needs to get rid when he had the chance

Just because you don't know the rules doesn't make it a joke goal.

Re: Midweek matches
Given it’s against Villa and puts Man City 5 points ahead of Spurs I’m prepared to accept the decision

Re: Midweek matches
The first goal was offside and they have found a rule to justify giving it.

This deliberate playing of the call is meant to cover back passes which an offside player intercepts not a player coming back from 20 yards offside and nicking the ball off the toe of a defender bringing the ball down on his chest.

Joke.

Re: Midweek matches
Just said by the law of the game not offside, Walton has of course now agreed with them...

Once Mings played the ball, he was no longer offside. So a fair goal in my eyes.

Re: Midweek matches
Why is Smith complaining? Just remember the goal that Sheff Utd “ didn’t “ score last season. He fucking loved VAR then 😂😂

Sir Alf 9:50 Wed Jan 20
Re: Midweek matches
hard to see how the first was not offside. Are they thinking that because Mings gets it and takes a couple of touches it means that it is somehow a new passage of play?

Well at least it got Peter Walton to raise his first disagreement with the officials out of 100 games :-)

And I agree there is something about the diving of Grealish and Villa and their odious manager Smith that makes the injustice raise a smile. But VAR is all part of the rigged game it seems?.

Sven Roeder 9:48 Wed Jan 20
Re: Midweek matches
Seemed an obvious offside to give.
City player comes back & challenges Mings as soon as he plays the ball.
No wonder Dean Smith ended up with a red talking to Jon Moss

2-0 & over.
Entertaining game & Foden has been good

VAR nobbling Villa, you say? Red card for Dean Smith.
Nothing to see here. Fuck 'em.

Smith is a prick.
