Declan Rice
Not only a key player for us and the clubs Captain. Two MOTM awards in two games for England, he looks like he will be a key player for us at the Euros also.

Still just 22 and only going to get better. We must have one of the best holding midfielders in the world right now.

The club should be trying to get him to sign a new long term deal. He is no where near the highest earner at the club (players like Lanzini and Yarmalenko earning 2/3 times more).

He is still tied down for some time but I think a sizeable bid from one of the big clubs is inevitable this summer. Guardiola full of praise few weeks ago.

Cannot help but think the owners will use the Euros as a shop window and will cash in.

Here’s to hoping.

Maybe they will try and tie a few down this summer but I have my doubts.

Re: Declan Rice
Dealcanvey, still so much still wrong about our club

We are massively overachieving and the board are dining out on that

We need to hear positive comments from them about how they are tieing our key players down to long contracts, not giving Noble another year.

Re: Declan Rice
Noble should never have been given a new contract, he's on the periphery of the squad, offers fuck all apart from a few cheeky cockney comments

His space is hindering the development of another youth team.player in 1st team squad

Just tell him he can be an ambassador but he's not playing again

Re: Declan Rice
It’s the zero talk of a new deal that concerns me the most. Makes you think even more it is their plan to sell.

Whether it’s this summer or next is irrelevant. Paying your best player the least is not a great idea for a number of reasons.

Saw somewhere that Yarmalenko is earning what soucek, rice and Coufal earn combined which is a crazy stat.

Move on the expensive dead wood, actually attempt to keep our promising players at the club happy and try to improve on this season.

They have a history of looking at the team and thinking "Job done!" then just sitting back expecting the success and money to come pouring in for the following few years.

Look how they fucked Payet about.

1986 all over again, bound to happen

The club did not invest after the boys of 86, and look at us now

We have been hamstrung for donkeys years having owners who penny pinch or makes outstandingly bad investments

We need them to listen to Moyes or fuck the hell off

Re: Declan Rice
If he has scored that goal against Arsenal it would have just been one of greatest goals it would have been one of the best goals in English s football history

I really wanted him to bury it

Re: Declan Rice
I’d say we’ve got 2 of the best defensive midfielders in the world.
Young Rice will be doing well if he learns a thing or 2 from Soucek about getting foward and scoring.

Re: Declan Rice
Should have given Rice Nobles wages.
What's Noble on must be about 80k.

Hermit

The lad has worked on and improved every facet of his game that needed it, being a more defensive midfielder, so I have faith in him that he will also improve his shooting, to become the complete midfielder.

His progression has been a joy to watch.

Re: Declan Rice
That’s a fair point Lily and it did go through my mind whe;I posted that. I think he has the ability, just needs a few more goals to his tally.

Re: Declan Rice
Before he can be up there with Gerrard, he has to improve the one weakness he has, putting the ball in the back of the net. He’s got a hell of a shot on him, and he’s getting closer and closer, but he has to get that bit more composure when he shoots.

Re: Declan Rice
Can see him only staying one more year(if we make Europe)and then move on for big money.

Hermit Road 5:27 Thu Apr 1
Re: Declan Rice
He is up there with Gerard now who I thought was a phenomenal player.

Fortunately we have him signed to a long contract and should make him by far the highest paid player at the club this summer if he will sign

Re: Declan Rice
I wouldn't have Pickford in goal.

I'd have Shaw over Chilwell. .Right back is a problem as well.

I just don't see us having a chance.

Re: Declan Rice
Credit to Rice he realised that to be a real top class powerhouse he needed to do more than break play up and then just pass it sideways and backwards. Some seemed to think that was enough, but Rice didn't and is now adding forward runs to his game. I read he has been studying vids of Yaya Toure or whatever his name is.
