Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
If Man U Vs Liverpool is to be replayed it must be before the final day of the season on May 23rd.

The problem here is Man U have fixtures every Wednesday and Saturday with the exception of Saturday 15th. Liverpool have a game that Sunday, the 16th.

The only option might be to play it on Tuesday 11th, when Liverpool have a free week and United play the following night. United would then have to put out the development squad.

Which ever way you turn look at the situation its very hard to see how the game can be played inside the May 23rd window without simply handing 3 points to Liverpool

Still can't understand why the match was called off in the first place?

A bunch of Manchester's great unwashed wander onto the pitch, cock a territorial leg, wander back out and give the Old Bill a bit of a slap on the way. It was all done and dusted pretty quickly.

Plenty of time to play the match. I believe they even have floodlights these days?

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
All we have to do it win our remaining games. Can’t worry about Liverpool or leicester. We need Chelsea to drop points to city and arsenal and we have to win out.

All very doable but tight.

That's absolutely ridiculous.

why couldn't they just move the WBA v Liverpool to the Wednesday and the Man Utd v Liverpool game to the Sunday.
Playing into Leicester and Liverpool's hands.

Confirmed as...

Thursday, 6 May (20:00 BST): Roma v Man Utd
Sunday, 9 May (14:05 BST): Aston Villa v Man Utd
Tuesday, 11 May (18:00 BST): Man Utd v Leicester City
Thursday, 13 May (20:15 BST): Man Utd v Liverpool

Even with a squad as large as Manchester United's they're going to be flagging by the Leicester and Liverpool matches. Not good news for us.

Solskjaer has the same mentality as Fergie when it comes to Liverpool. They’ll also be quite determined to ensure that Liverpool finish outside the CL positions.

Because they want to beat them both won't mean they won't have to rotate or be tired.

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
Man Utd will go all out to beat Leicester as there is a chance that Leicester could finish above them... there is also no chance they will let Liverpool beat them, especially as they have the weekend after off.

Huffers - not great is it, unless you're Leicester or Liverpool

if manu are seen\\ viewed as being responsible for the nonmatch, then liverpool can ask for compensation

I'm sure the powers that be will have a plan and execute it in a way which means we won't qualify for CL if we finish fourth. It's the West Ham way.

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
They won't award the points.

I want to see MU suffer though.

The corner flag incident cost us a 100k. And the game wasn't postponed nor abandoned.

What I don't want to see is a suspended sentence, that's basically letting them off.

(I may still be ANGRY about the Ogbonna injury going unpunished.

A Saturday game can change to a Friday night, freeing up the Monday night.

Is this a serious question? Of course they won’t.

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
It is preferable that everyone's final game kicks off at the same time.

It isn't essential. Didn't happen in the past.

It would certainly be better than handing Liverpool the points.

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
The PL agreed it so I can't see them penalising Man Utd. As Huffers said there are ways of making a gap - particularly when it doesn't affect fans at all. Everything can be rearranged at no notice.

Already covered in the Run In Post previously...

Ah..
I think I might have answered my own question.

WBA v Liverpool gets moved to Wed 12th May.
Man Utd v Liverpool gets moved to Sun 16th May.

Think that works ....

Re: Will Liverpool get the points if a date can't be found?
There is a week where they’re both playing on a Wednesday. They’ll have to move their games to a Tuesday and play again on a Thursday. That’s what they would’ve done if one of them were in the cup final.

Can’t see points being awarded. Has it ever happened before? Would cause a lot of problems.
