Don’t miss on Ventnor. Reminded me of Côte d'Azur. Shanklin is nice too.

"Blackgang Chine and Needles are popular classic destinations."

can you still call it 'Blackgang Chine' in these PC days?

Went one time only in 1981 for a week long school trip (first time I went anywhere without parents) remember it was the week of the FA Cup replay Spurs vs Man City (Ricky Villa goal) and we were allowed to 'stay up' to watch it. Loved it there and would like to go again one day.

I sort of get your point (Cornwall is my favourite place in the country mind). When the weather is shite in other parts of country Cornwall is doubly shite as it get it first. Do remember one particurly horrible day trying to find our way back from Rough Tor when it was raining horizontally and visibility was about 50 yards max.
The relief at seeing a stand of trees I recognised while wrangling a sodden Ordnance Survey map was huge.
My son who was 8 at the time thought it was a lovely adventure.

"We left Cornwall yesterday and drove to the Isle of Wight"

Now this is impressive - driving on water is a rare skill.

I went on two occasions last year, both were for five days at the Rookley Lakes Aria resorts place, which was quite pleasant.

I've been a few times. The last time I went was 3 years ago back then it looked like a shit hole.

They also asked your name when ordering and the tea mug had your name on it.

Nice touch.

We left Cornwall yesterday and drove to the Isle of Wight. I’m happier here.

Troy, its going to be paradise. My wife was supposed to book a few days down there for half term but booked Camber Sands instead.

The railway line is currently being upgraded so there’s a bus replacement (sound familiar?)
Branded has some good advice but so much - not least where to eat and drink - depends on the weather.

The Jutes invaded Kent and the IoW, so the latter's really an extension of Kent.

Let me guess, Branded, you piloted your own helicopter from Cornwall, which is how you managed to be in Cornwall this morning and IOW in the afternoon?

Is the Britten-Norman Islander still made there?

I seem to recall at one time the military deciding it was just what they wanted but the Civil Service/MoD was having none of it.
