Call to WHO's Zoltans - what is Wagyu beef, and what's the fuss?
This stuff, supposedly top end, has reached Aldi before I've even heard of it.

It looks like the kind of fatty steak that I'd put back if I picked it up by mistake.

“Foodies” are right up there with cyclists, vegans and Tottenham supports for me. Fuck off with all that.

had kobe beef in tokyo when i was there for the rugby a few years back.
pitched up in a place called mon cher ton ton - it was fantastic but daftly expensive
we only had a couple of beers and a glass of red each and the bill was 700 for two
definitely an experience though watching the chef cook on the hot plate in front of you - looked like you needed to know what you were doing from where i was sitting

Slice it thin and cook on a screamingly hot griddle for a few seconds each side or if a steak then reverse sear it to let the fat render..

Just fermented for sourness, isn't it?

My favourite multiple hour rice dish (sort of) is Louisiana red beans and rice with Andouille (not the French kind).

IOC...a couple of the ones I've cooked have involved using cider vinegar, which got me wondering afterwards "do Ethiopians really use cider vinegar"?

Have also DABBLED in a few Iranian recipes, pretty decent if you've got a spare 4 hours to piss around with just the rice, before you get onto the next bit.

Never tried it as I don't eat meat. Which is probably why I have a 30 inch waistline.

ingera

no real point other than I liked the sound of the word and spectacle of a meal served on a huge one

Breville cheese sandwich and a cheeky chinzano bianco

GPH, I've cooked a few Ethipian recipes...I like their food a lot.

Sounds far too poncey for me, Fritzl.

Birdseye Potato Waffles, caged hen fried eggs & happy shopper beans for me, washed down with a chilled Tizer.

Do let us know what Pawel has for dinner later.

Re: Call to WHO's Zoltans - what is Wagyu beef, and what's the fuss?
I've eaten in a few posh places as a guest of my hosts when working abroad, but none really stick in my memory.

Some meals in cheaper places, the kind of places I go to when I have to pay myself, do.

Raw (but well marinaded*) beef in an Ethiopian restaurant in Berlin, a rabbit and raspberry beer stew in Brussels and a Goan pork curry in King's Cross, all served in places that looked very unpromising from the outside.

The King's Cross place has been shut for years, if not decades, and the other two are a bit more than a bus ride away.

*the marinade contained coffee - what's not to like?

Rose wine doesn’t come in cans as far as I know, Exeter.

WTF is a bio Provençal Rose?...why can't you just have a can like any normal person?

Beef burgers with asparagus ratatouille off the grill today, HDC.

It was really nice with a chilled bio Provençal Rose. You’d have hated it.

No need to get angry, Fritzl. Just carry on being cool and educating everyone on how good things are off the back of information received off Pawel from BENCH.

Everyone eagerly awaits his next culinary experience.

Re: Call to WHO's Zoltans - what is Wagyu beef, and what's the fuss?
It is definitely useless information for you HDC. It wasn’t meant for you and you will never enjoy that kind of food.
