Imagine him & Benrahma: West Ham eye Ramy Bensebaini

David Moyes could form a frightening left flank at West Ham if emerging reports are to be believed…

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the Hammers are amongst the teams interested in a summer swoop for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini.

They’ll face competition from Jose Mourinho at AS Roma, whilst newly-appointed Adi Hutter is unlikely to want to let his star man depart this window.

The 26-year-old joined Gladbach for €8m (£6.8m) in 2019 and club president Rolf Konigs believes his value has tripled to around €20m (£18m).

This would certainly be an interesting move from Moyes and it’s one that he should make as Aaron Cresswell needs support on the left. Arthur Masuaku struggled with persistent injury concerns throughout last season and may not be trusted.

Interestingly, Bensebaini’s versatile attributes offer the Scotsman more than one solution.

If he were to deploy a back three, in which Cresswell has often dropped back into a left centre-back role, then the Algerian could be allowed the freedom to bomb on as an out-and-out wing-back but similarly, he too can play in the middle.

Across his two seasons at BORUSSIA-PARK, the left-back has delivered 12 goals and five assists, proving to be quite the lucrative outlet for Dortmund-bound boss Marco Rose.

That’s 17 direct goal contributions in 59 appearances, or once every 251 minutes, which is pretty impressive returns for a defender.

Moyes has been able to get the best out of Cresswell as he provided a squad-high eight assists last term and with Vladimir Coufal also chipping in with seven in the league himself, it’s clear that the two wide roles are crucial to the 58-year-old’s system at the London Stadium.

Bensebaini has been likened to Juventus and Brazil star Alex Sandro as he’s got rapid pace to become a threat on the over-and under lap down that left flank, nor does he shy away from any tackles either.

That is something that his former Rennes coach Christian Gourcuff has since alluded to.

“He was a young player when he came to us. He didn’t have the explosiveness that he has developed whilst he’s been here. He used to switch off, too, but he’s matured,” he said, via Bundesliga.com.

The £19.8m-rated defender could strike up quite the partnership with his fellow countryman, Said Benrahma, who is often selected down the left.

They have played eight times together on the international stage, where they have provided a combined total of four goal contributions. Just imagine that in the Premier League next season.

Moyes must look to urge a swoop for the Gladbach beast.

West Ham United want Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara

West Ham United have enquired about Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to GiveMeSport, and the Finland international is now ahead of Alex Kral in their thinking.

The Hammers have been keeping tabs on the Czech Republic international for a while now, but Kamara’s performances at the European Championships blew them away.

By contrast, Kral was below par at the tournament, and West Ham have now taken a deeper look into the Rangers star’s statistics.

The 25-year-old played just three times at the Euros as Finland failed to progress from their group, but he caught the attention of watching scouts.

Rangers are trying to hand the Finnish star a new deal, but that has not been successful so far, with Premier League clubs now knocking on his door.

West Ham need another midfielder to provide competition and back-up for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

Kamara could feel he is ready to return to the Premier League, having failed to make the grade at Arsenal.

The Hammers will play in the Europa League in 2021-22 to add to their FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Premier League schedule, and manager David Moyes needs quality squad depth to navigate the busy campaign.

Kamara is yet to indicate a willingness to leave Ibrox this summer, with the chance to play in the Champions League and win domestic silverware available.

He played a huge role as Rangers impressed in the Europa League and won the Scottish Premiership last season, and could be keen on remaining at the club for next season.

West Ham enquire about Borussia Monchengladbach forward Breel Embolo

Exclusive - West Ham have enquired about the availability of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Breel Embolo.

The Hammers are in desperate need of additional firepower up front, with Michail Antonio currently the club's only recognised centre-forward following the departure of Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January.

Manager David Moyes has money to spend on a new forward, which 90min understands to be around the £30m mark, although there's scope for the money to be invested elsewhere if West Ham are able to agree a loan deal with Monchengladbach.

24-year-old Embolo was relatively goal shy in the Bundesliga last season, netting just five times for Monchengladbach, and that's opened up the possibility of a temporary move away.

Embolo did put in an impressive showing for Switzerland at Euro 2020, scoring his country's opening goal of the tournament during the 1-1 group stage draw with Wales, before continuing to impress as they qualified for the round of 16.

Switzerland surprisingly eliminated France on penalties in that game, before Embolo's participation in the tournament was curtailed by a hamstring injury in the quarter-final defeat to Spain.

Antonio is almost certain to start the season as West Ham's first choice, but Embolo is now on an extensive list of players that have been identified as potential targets.

One player the Hammers held lengthy talks over was teenage Czech sensation Adam Hlozek, who was another to showcase his talents at Euro 2020. But interest in him has intensified and it now looks doubtful that West Ham will wrap up a deal to bring him to the London Stadium ahead of more appealing options.

Everton and West Ham interest in striker backed up – Could be available for €25m after three goals at Euros

The interest from Everton and West Ham United for the signing of Benfica striker Haris Seferovic continues to be highlighted by the Portuguese media.

Last week, we had already seen Toffees and Hammers being named as clubs who had ‘made contact’ to sign the Eagles star this summer.

Newspaper O Jogo had claimed that these clubs got information on a potential move and the possibility of a bid ‘was open’, as the Lisbon side are demanding €25m for his sale.

Now it’s time for A Bola to back up their interest, as they feature today a story saying now that Seferovic is back with Benfica’s squad for pre-season, it’s once again claimed that Everton and West Ham are both interested in his signing.

According to them, Seferovic’s performances in the Euros, where he scored three goals, has drawn the interest from clubs who had already been following him, such as the Toffees and the Hammers.

Still, A Bola doesn’t bring any information on talks or bids from these clubs, so it doesn’t really look like they’ve made any first moves for his transfer yet.
