Is WHO a social media site...?
|
Or is it a virtual, semi-private chat club for people with vastly different beliefs and opinions on every subject under the sun, who share a common love? And is there a difference?

Yeah, but, which threads are the pub "snugs" and which threads are the pub car park?

... although about once a year some silly old drunken cunt goes home and gets his WW2 service rifle and waves it around screaming something nobody understands.

WHO is a flat roofed pub on an estate with a betting shop, chippy and corner shop the only other places to go.
It's always reminded me of The Roebuck or General Smuts on that terrible estate in White City.
Of course the addled minds frequenting the boozer would only think the things they say on here, not say them out loud.

Think a big part of that is most people on here who cunt each other off are 1 or 2 people removed from each other at most.
Half the time they'll say hello to each other in the same pub on a match day.
Some of the abuse on twitter and Facebook (twitter especially) is so fucking savage because its total strangers.

"WHO woke is actually quite reasonable compared to 'Out there' "
Which is really quite good. You'd have to set out with a specific agenda to even find us.
Which, should it happen, would suggest that there is an attention-seeking GRASS amongst us to spill the beans.

One thing he might have a point on is that WHO has been an excellent training ground for learning that you can have a brutal debate with name calling and deeply personal insult and yet no one dies and no one goes on a killing spree.
Yet if a member of the actual woke brigade flew in today, with a mandate to say yeas or no and 'did an audit' we would be closed down.
WHO woke is actually quite reasonable compared to 'Out there'

A place for old fat drunks to talk bollox and show their psychological frailties. Its why we all love it.
Once the "Woke'sters" find out about it , it will be condemned which is quite apt for all us who post on here. We are washed up, sad old gits anyway... well I am thats for sure.

TBF, John Smith's has improved immeasurably from the bad old days, when I wouldn't drink it if it was free.
Although they may still produce the old stuff for clubs frequented by people for whom change for the better is a concept impossible to grasp

B man,
Good point where once the windmilling was spontaneous, would spill out into the car park and others would enthusiastically join in,
Now the same old people just seek each other out as soon as they enter, take a table and just take turns slapping each other round the face whilst others ignore them.

You forgot the regular skirmishes between 3/4 trouser clad blokes who are passed it and can barely stand to swing a punch

Nurse is definitely onto something, but I would liken it to one of the social clubs attached to a small town Sport club.
Flat roofed, hot in the summer, cold in the winter.
The once enthusiastic committee has resigned due to constant sniping by people who do not like how things are done but do fuck all other than pay for drinks and watch the TV
The lager is Carling, the bitter is John Smiths, the vodka is Smirnoff, the gin is gordons. Want premium or craft. Fuck off down the road then.
The barmaid looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp and only does the job to get laid by drunk players.
You can be not talking to a member for months due to a petty disagreement one week, then be organising a whip for them the next.
Most days the atmosphere is flat to average but it only takes one or two character to turn up to lift it and very occasionally the magical lock in fairy waves there magic and you get a legendary moment and you keep attending for those moments or to reminisce.
