Bayern Munich’s Julian Nagelsmann comments on uncertainty surrounding Corentin Tolisso amid Juventus, West Ham United links

The new boss thinks Corentin Tolisso will be with the squad this season.

The status of Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso at the club was uncertain at best heading into this summer and things are not any more clear now than they were at the end of last season.

Tolisso spent the first half of his summer playing for France at the European Championships, but almost immediately after reporting for duty at Bayern Munich, the soon-to-be 27-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 and went back to France to quarantine.

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann acknowledged the elephant in the room with Tolisso’s contract expiring after this season, but said he is working under the assumption that Tolisso will be part of his roster this season.

“Coco is currently in isolation in France. I’m looking forward to when he returns and trains with the team,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “His contract situation is known to everyone. I assume that when he’s healthy again, he’ll be part of this team.”

Per Sport1 (via @iMiaSanMia), Juventus and West Ham United are both interested in Tolisso.

With Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich starting and depth options like Marc Roca and impressive youngsters Torben Rhein and Taylor Booth, the club could be assessing Tolisso daily at this point.
