Insulate Britain Protests
Anyone seen them, or been stuck in them?

Monday they sat in the middle of the m25 and blocked the motor way, police took hours to get them moved.

Today, they've done it again, blocking South Mimms and junctions 8 and 9.

Their trying to get the Govt to spend money on insulating peoples homes, as it helps stop emissions.

Absolute cunts, and the police are a fucking joke being too soft with them. Champagne socialist cunts.

I'd douse them in petrol then advise them to avoid any sparks or naked flames on their way home.

It stinks, son: the smelly one.

They should really be sat in the mud at all new road/by-pass builds.

The M25 is already there - they need to stop all further roads being built - Oh, and hijack all the HS2 tunnel boring machines to make enough caves for us all to live in.

Rob, the poppy is a gesture to remember those who thought so we all enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Completely different to a gesture which supports the defunding of police.

I do not think that the Poppy is necessarily a political statement is it? I thought it was about remembering the ex service men and women that had given their time and lives to the country.

Plus there was mass uproar in the press a few times and England were banned from wearing a shirt with it on.

Whereas the knee and fist is about black power, that is certianly what the movement started as, let's get together and be solid with BLM, until it turned out that they are as eco zealots actually more, than the EDL.

Would they allow a statement by white players that politicised the EDL movement?

I think that remembrance and politics are slightly merky in your answer mate

Good to see one of the protestors is a labour council from scarborough who has already been arrested 4 times

Mate, toothache is an absolute cunt!

I agree it does work both ways, but the difference with disagreeing of taking the knee is not because it offends people, it's more so because in some people's view (and mine) political gestures like this should be kept out of spots and sports should no way get involved with political issues,

Don't think Fo is narky, he's one of the better contributors to threads like this.

Wasn't meant to be narky, mate. Am I ever narky with you?
Just pointing out that cancel culture cuts both ways.
Moreover I have a cunt of a toothache and am consequently extremely irascible.

Re: Insulate Britain Protests
My biggest gripe is this climate nonsense. We have made a commitment to reduce our emissions but still they want more. Just tell them to fuck off.

The average Joe just wants to earn a decent living wage and to be able to have one holiday a year but all this green bollocks equals higher taxes.

They would be better off blocking the roads in China, Russia or India.

Fo - Why the narky comment?

I asked you a genuine question about the meaning of woke, not to start a discussion about taking the knee at football.

Fo

"The right" don't control the discourse. They have no power to "shut down debate". What is and is not acceptable is determined by what's considered potentially offensive to certain protected classes. Straying outside this can be career ending and even warrant a police visit.

And this is happening under a "conservative" government run by a "libertarian". Beyond parody.

It's basically people finding certain things offensive and want things "cancelled"?

Like taking the knee?

2Left.
I've read plenty of similar books but will give that a go.

Excuse my ignorance, but how are there varying meanings to wokeness?

It's basically people finding certain things offensive and want things "cancelled"?
