Having checked, not Hipgnosis but Roger Dean, who I think I might have actually been thinking of. Very Yes, anyway.

Interesting. Budgie's covers look like Hipgnosis, but I haven't checked.

I flogged my vinyl collection about 30 years ago. The bloke who bought it told me that the only thing he was interested in was 60s and 70s rock/prog/folk. He took the rest away, but I suspect he dropped it off at the nearest tip.

Re: Burke Shelley RIP
I remember in the 80s, whenever I thumbed through the rock/metal LPs of any 2nd hand record shop or market stall, I often used to see loads of Budgie LPs with their distinctive artwork

Very much so. But there's a small clue to that in him dying at 71.

Re: Burke Shelley RIP
My first thought was budgie was the drummer of Siouxie and the banshees/the creatures. Never knew it was a band in its own right.

Joe

Budgie were a quite well-known act. Certainly main support calibre on the HM and progressive circuits.

Not hugely famous, but well respected and pretty decent. Second-best Welsh band ever ;)

RIP Burke, boyo.

I’m also a lorry driver that has toured Europe with some of the biggest bands in the world.

Mind you, the next one is 5 months with Ed Sheeran so you may have a point.
