Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
Lots of talk here that he is about to invade Ukraine.

NATO and the US won’t get involved but heavy sanctions have been threatened and Putin has threatened ending all diplomatic ties with the west.

Latest is that Putin will stage an attack making it look like Ukraine starts the conflict.

What’s being reported over there?

Is it about to kick off?

Oh well that's then... Wagner and `their very few casualties` should wrap it all up in a week then... I mean with virtually whole Ukraine brigades being wiped out... and untouched Wagner ... no contest surely?? Fully expect them to be in Kyiv in a month...

I watched enough to make my mind up.

Would it make me clever in your world if I forced myself to watch all of it?

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
Let me guess - what he is revealing is the Kremlin has the advantage because it is prepared to take losses on a scale the Ukrainians cannot?

I'd have thought the way the Kremlin goes about taking care of its people is basic to an appreciation of the Ukrainian cause? What media has been keeping this from you?

And now you know that using people as cannon fodder is the Kremlin's "advantage", does that really incline you to demand your government embarks on negotiations while the Kremlin is in any position to dictate terms?

Or maybe you just appreciate this crap because it annoys anyone who is well-informed?

I will mate, that Willy made some excellent observations elsewhere upon the value of received life, war aims and the currency of respective 'wins'
Quite an eye opener and logical once the western blinkers are off

Point one you've fabricated — he says Wagner are taking casualties, the actual words he uses are 'exceedingly few'. He then says Ukraine have had 80% of a brigade wiped out, 4,000 dead, if true.

It's right up your alley, crassus mate.

It's a bit of a slog for me, I'm not all that tuned in to warfare itself

Needless to say, it is not in line with the sort of stuff in the msm.

Had a quick listen to this. Only 20 minutes through. It’s interesting but he seems to contradict himself.

He says Wagner aren’t losing many soldiers in Bakhmut then says they send the fresh meat in to get wiped out so they can reveal Ukrainian positions, are they not Wagner soldiers too?

He also says Ukraine are losing and Russia has far superior resources and weapons but if that’s the case, why is it taking Russia / Wagner so long to capture territory? Bakhmut is one town and it’s been months! If that’s on purpose and just the way the do things then it’s going to be years to capture Ukraine at that rate. Nothing really makes sense.

He assumes that Russia will throw bodies and bodies at this problem until they win. However has no one thought that Ukraine is also sacrificing strategically? Russia have 3 times as many people I believe as Ukraine. But Ukraine are playing at home. They haven’t forced conscription at all yet. Russia are already looking at 800k.

I think the guy is credible but I also don’t think you ca understand the conflict from a micro level. It’s possible for Russia to take Bakhmut after months of fighting and still end up losing.

My guess is that they are going to try and get in behind the Russians by attacking Crimea directly. It’s the hardest thing to do but probably the only thing that will end the war. And I think they are prepared to sacrifice soldiers in other areas to keep Russia preoccupied.

But they will need the best weapons to do this so it’s a waiting game for them. Can they hold out? We will see.

I will also add that Zelensky has never portrayed they are winning easily. He keeps begging the west that this is serious for them. They are dying. Losing hundreds of soldiers daily. What the podcast guy says is really not a surprise. We should all know that this is very tough for Ukraine. No one is “winning” in this thing. It’s brutal and tragic.

Sock, thanks for that, I've not had time to watch it but I'm familiar with Willy from elsewhere, he is a good bloke and credible - I'll watch that later
He has spent a lot of time out there in a journalistic capacity, has a good understanding of the weapons involved and military strategies

Oh, and he has terminal cancer, so has no long term agenda, either way

I think you'll find the whole point is Ukraine is taking heavy losses.

Absolutely no doubt about what the septic has said about our armed forces is true.

I suspect those involved in financing them have been running around for the past decade high-fiving each other about the money they've saved.

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
The senior general is only speaking the truth - the army is an absolute clusterfuck and not fit for purpose, not that it seems to even be able to figure out what that purpose is.

Interesting link Rio’s thanks for posting - Ukraine have been suffering very heavy losses I don’t think people appreciate this

Re: Is Putin about to make a big mistake?
A senior US general has privately told Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and other officials the British Army is no longer regarded as a top-level fighting force, military sources have revealed.
They said this decline in war-fighting capability - following decades of cuts to save money - needed to be reversed faster than planned in the wake of Russia's war in Ukraine.
"Bottom line... it's an entire service unable to protect the UK and our allies for a decade," one of the defence sources said.

Cheeky cunt.

Yeah, the source came across as equally credible and pro-Ukrainian as you are.

Ok, Picklovski

I've provided you with an interesting source who is very pro-ukrainian telling you what is going on, if you don't want to listen to it, that's fine.

Board?

Read the Rand reports from 2019 and late last year - the west has done exactly what we planned to. This is an attempt to break Russia up so the west can access their resources, Ukraine is unfortunately caught in the middle of it.
