I see we are linked with him again.
Would you? Been injured and out of form for ages, so it’s comedy us and Arsenal are the two apparently strongly linked.
Massive no from me. Feels like Andy Carroll mk2 and we’d have learned nothing. And if Everton don’t want him then surely we don’t.
Thoughts?

If that was true dont you think the dozens of Liverpool fans who were in court on the same day would have had it all over social media?

DCL had one really decent season in terms of goals but over 2 or 3 seasons was improving.
However, a major injury and coming back takes time so I would not judge him based on this season. Next season he may well get back to where he was but I would agree he is more of a 30 - 40 million player not 60. Injuries really can impact as witnessed with, for example, James Maddison who returned from a bad one with Leicester last season and struggled to get anywhere near his previous form. However, this term due to injuries he has had a run in the side and looks a very good player again. Same arguably with Lanzini who took a season almost 2 to rediscover his mojo although in his case it was also about changing his role to lie deeper since he lost a half yard in pace due to that horrendous achilles ? injury he got while with the 2018 Argie WC squad.
Calvert Lewin may yet turn out to be a good forward but would of course be a risk at this stage and definitely not worth what Everton want for him.

He seemed to play a bit deeper yesterday but certainly didnt pull up any trees. Antonio played well yesterday but is nowhere near the natural finisher we desperately need to become a top four side, then again those type of players are desperately hard to come by Bowen is probably a better finisher than Antonio but doesnt have the physicality to play up top in his own. One would hope Moyes & co have someone in mind for the summer.

On yesterdays showing if DCL is worth £60m, Antonio should be worth double that!

Antonio was much more of a nuisance than him yesterday.
For 50/60 million I would be expecting a player on a different level to Antonio altogether.

Judging by the recent GQ article, his handbag collection will look good in the Championship.

Re: Calvert Lewin

He’s a good player who has got bored in his job and needs a move.
His motivation to get back from injury to play in a struggling side didn’t look great. He looks rusty and needs 10-12 games to get properly back to fitness.
You will be able to judge him properly next season.
I think in a settled side with a settled manager, playing regular he’ll be a good addition for a club like ours.
Being English and the premium That brings, I don’t think the value is there for the diddlys or Moyes - I wouldn’t be unhappy if he did come here.
