I like Pearce, proper old school bloke and pro, but I was listening to his TS interview and he was harping on about 'Dave' as if he was Alex Ferguson, well ott, had to turn it off.

I think we've been lucky to have him. Seems a top bloke, when being a top bloke is underrated. Team spirit and all that stufg that has been great since Moyes came back. Reckon all the staff can take credit too. It wont work if you have cunt on board.
Looks like he'd feature in his own commando comic book. Machine gun Pearcey. " have that Jerry!
"Donner und blitzen" " kamerad" etc etc

In fact, he still played the occasional match after that.
Got injured in his last match, in his 70s, and complained about a promising career cut short by injury!
Again, iirc.

"Still, Stanley Matthews was 50 when he hung up his boots"
His Football League boots. Played as an amateur for another ten years.
I think.

"He said he just needed a break from the intensity of the Premier League and Europe to do other things and also said the 3 hour plus round trip for him each day for training was catching up with him".
Couldn't he just move, or get a flat nearer?

He was on Talksport yesterday with Ally McCoist and was asked about leaving the club.
He said he has loved the past 2 years at the club and mentioned and praised in his own words, David (Moyes), the Chairman, Karen and Mr Gold.
He said he just needed a break from the intensity of the Premier League and Europe to do other things and also said the 3 hour plus round trip for him each day for training was catching up with him.

No true. That's why he has been working for them and getting paid by them for the last 2/3 years .

Aside from all the cheap shots regarding his coaching ability the fact he is stepping down worries me.
Is there a chance he can smell something is rotten in the state of Denmark?
He doesn't make much effort to disguise the fact that he ain't the greatest fan of Sully and Co eh?

Always liked Pearce as a player, no nonsense, hard as nails, great pro and Captain. Good luck Stuart in your next venture.

Pearce is a good fella - hope he does well in whatever he does next.
We've still got a strong coaching set-up: Moyes, McKinlay, Nolan, Nevin. They'll add to it.
We've got good coaches. We just need to find some extra players for them to coach!

Good luck to him. I had massive respect for him when he came to us as a 37YO play and played until he was 39. He gave the lot and never looked too old for first team football.
He came back twice despite, along with David Moyes, being humiliated by the porn brothers.
Wish him well in what is likely to be his last hurrah!

A bit tenuous, however I know a couple of Everton supporters who claim that Duncan Ferguson is none to happy at Everton and could be off.
He was David Moyles captain at Everton, he has his badges so could take over from Pearce

I think I saw Matthew Upson sitting behind Moyes at the Norwich game. Perhaps he’s got his coaching badges if Noble doesn’t.

The irony of a pointless, snivelling, no hope weasel like you Button, attempting to take the piss out of a great man like Stuart Pearce.
He wouldn't even employ you to clean his toilets.

Wasn't his job to sit in the stands and provide some kind of overview. Probably thought it was pointless as there was never the options on the bench to change anything

Doubt Noble has the badges to take it even if he wanted it?
