Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
|
Who shot JR? Will Jesse Lingard sign or not sign for West Ham?
It's one of life's cliff hangers. Let's hope it has a happy ending.
Because watching our concerning performance against Rangers, and the lack of creativity and goals towards the end of last season, we need a spark.
That spark could be Jesse.
From Lingard's point of view - he could snatch more money playing in the backwaters of the Arabian desert. This is his last big pay day - and he's keen to stay in England.
We should just cough up and get the job done.
Okay, yes, it's a gamble. Lingard could become a fat, overpaid turkey, more interested in pedalling his social media account than playing SOCCER.
But his goals, his pace, and his creativity could be the difference between a mediocre season and a good one.
I was on the fence, now I reluctantly believe we need to take a gamble.
Who agrees?

Shhhh….. whisper this even quieter
Newcastle offered Woods as a straight loan swap for Antonio until end of season.
West Ham said no. Antonio will only go if sold.
Seems bananas as Woods fits Moyes model perfectly.
Still more to come on Antonio…… likely to be leaving and possibly still Newcastle.

The Nottingham Forest owner paid Lingards agent (his brother) a huge 'finders fee' we wouldn't match it.

I'm glad we pushed him for an answer.
I doubt it was DITHERING DAVE that was giving it the heat though.

We really don't need Lingard. His time with us was a fluke and what he's showing Forrest is what West Ham have dodged!
We should consider ourselves very lucky as this is very Un West Ham like!

Things move fast in Jesse's life. Reading the news, it seems that not getting into ManU's team after doing reasonably well with us turned him into an alcoholic. Presumably, he's now an ex-alcoholic.
(Certainly don't want him if he's not ex)

He's repaid Forest for that love they showered him with, with ZERO goals in 14 premier league matches.

the owner wants to fly you to Greece to do the deal'..

"Negotiations broke down at West Ham, which I can't get into too much. Nottingham showed the love a lot more than West Ham.
"When you think about it, I'd been at West Ham before anyway, you can see what I can do and what I've done, so you expect them to be like 'we'll show you the love, here's the contract, blah blah, let's negotiate, let's talk'. It wasn't like that for some reason.
"They wanted me to sign but it was kind of rushed. It'd be Wednesday and they'd be like 'sign by Friday'. Let's talk, you know me. I've been there, helped your team, got to the Europa League.
"But Forest were like 'we love you, we want you, the manager will come to your house, the owner wants to fly you to Greece to do the deal'. They did everything in their power to get the deal over the line."

I hope to god we don’t do this throwing fake money around when Lingard and Forest come to play that seems to be becoming a story. Makes us look so small time, bitter and embarrassing. He’s absolutely not worth the effort or even another thought.

He’s a level up on Benrahma, fornals, vlasic in terms of pace and finishing.
Vlasic fair enough, not sure about the other 2. Won’t be losing any sleep missing out on Lingard
