Posted the same last year. Nothing has changed, except win don't win matches anymore. I'm fed up, we can do much better

I have been pointing at Soucek as a big part of the problem with keeping possession for a long while to the point of obsession. He’s simply not quick, agile enough or technically competent enough to be starting Premiership games every week and playing the full 90.
He’s picked because he’s tall and gives us extra defensive cover in defence at set pieces etc and wins a few headers in midfield. Tge goals recently have been seized upon by Moyes as justification of course but it’s the aerial strength which Moyes places above everything else imo. Not surprising as Moyes was a CB who liked an aerial challenge.
The late goals have got us some arguably undeserved points but as everyone says an impact sub if you need a goal has to be his role long term in the Premiership. But that will not happen under Moyes I wager.
Longer term, JWP is another who should not necessarily be starting every game and playing 90 mins every game if we want to develop our ability to pass and move, play thru the press etc. But he is worthy of his place generally.
Moyes is trying again to get us to keep the ball better but again it’s failing as it did at the start of last season. We have some different players but still lacking a proper forward or two who are key to movement needed to stretch teams as are very good wing backs which Coufal is not. He’s a good willing squad man and gets in some decent positions but a lot ( not all as per yesterday and their games ) of his deliveries and passing are not top quality.
But mostly it’s Moyes half baked / not fully 100% commitment to playing a passing game that means we looks half baked mess. Slow and little movement t means we simply pass it around in our own half and no ability to play thru the middle or create overloads etc.
He’s simply not a good enough, modern coach who can implement anything other than a defensive block , set pieces and counter attacking system which was found out 2 seasons ago

What annoys me is the easy ride Moyes gets from the press, nobody ever questions him and his decisions or tactics, why ?

That's it. Moyes has an obsession with those six players and he can't unlock the code. I said on the game thread, if Soucek doesn't score then he does little else. So, for me, he has to be sacrficed for a goal scorer. Not Bowen up front. he's too good at cutting in from the right.
We need Mubama up front. Kudus left. Paqueta central and Bowen right. Kudus looked comfortable on left and he can cut in and hit them with his right. If he can;t cut in then he finds Emerson on the over-lap and gets inside to play as a striker.
Same with Bowen and Coufal.
Moyes obsession with Soucek is killing the club. He needs to be brought on if we need a goal or when we are 2 or 3 up to get them opponent on the back foot by telling Tomas to get up and get on the end of things.
JWP and Alvarez are more than enough for DM's.

Re: Moyes Out

For me the midfield is the problem area Moyes can't cope with. He has 6 players he can't drop for one reason or another without causing problems for himself. The players are JWP, Alvarez, Soucek, Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus.
Add to that the fact that we don't have an orthodox striker or left winger. So he plays all 6 together rather than buy or introduce new problems for himself. That's why we end up with Paqueta on LW. Soucek as Attacking Midfielder and Bowen as central striker. Maybe that's why we don't buy players to fill these positions?
I reckon that Moyes knows his problems get bigger if he introduces Mubama or Cornet to win the game. If they play well he'll only need to find another reason to drop someone so better to keep them out the side...
Conspiracy theory? Maybe but everything seems to point that way...

Watching Paqueta wasted out on the left wing has me pulling my hair out.
He'll go with that all season, I reckon, now that he's found his new Fellaini.

His insistence on playing all three every week is fucking infuriating and sods law none of them are getting injured. For my money if we left one of them out yesterday, put Paqueta in the middle and either Benny or Cornet out wide we would have won, but what the fuck do I know.

Would love to know the thought process with playing Paqueta LW, sticking 3 defensive minded midfielders who are shit on the ball in the starting 11 and then moving JWP out LW for about 20 mins
No subs till 85th minute was it?
Fucking chore going over there at the moment, already feels like a dead rubber season. Roll on August.

I said on here a few weeks back that Moyes no longer knows his best side or system and that is exactly how it's panned out. We are also more predictable than ever now, most predicted a draw or a narrow win yesterday and against Burnley, you know beforehand exactly what is going to happen. That really isn't what football is meant to be about, but fuck knows what gives in the near term, the club and fanbase are all in a complete rut.
Spurs away this week and who is looking forward to it?

Nothing more to be said ( even by me - hurrah you all shout !!! :-) )
We have to hope by end of season he hasn’t won a couple of games because it seems Sullivan will only remember the cup win and last week or two and not the previous 2 and a half seasons since Dec 2021 in the league
In other words, there is no guarantee Moyes will get binned this summer

I listened to a few minutes of Talk Sport this morning and all they were discussing was the excitement of Tottenham drawing 3-3 with City; Liverpool beating Fulham 4-3; O'Sullivan winning at Snooker and other exciting sports.
Moyes is killing WHU. That man has obviously a system of management that has kept him employed for years but FMOB! He is not the man for a club going places.
I don't suppose many noticed the shuffling of the formations during the game but starting with Paqueta on LW Kudus RW; Soucek Attacking Mid; Bowen CF; JWP DM not his usual more box to box or AM; Alvarez DM which is where he should be.
Then at 1-1 Moyes switched Soucek back to DM where he started to get more touches. That allowed JWP to move forward but was pushed to left side of midfield and Paqueta moved central.
Then Moyes moved Kudus to LW, Paqueta to striker and Bowen to RW. This meant that JWP looked odd on left side of midfield so a couple of minutes from the end, he brought on Fornals to LM allowing JWP to move central again.
No thoughts of bringing on a striker like Mubama or Cornet? Clearly not. This man is a complete fraud who has certainly lost it if he ever actually had it!

Mad dog This is exactly the problem that pundits don’t seem to understand We’re being charged top 4 money as a group of fans, but not seeing any return on it Sullivan is an absolute disgrace of a chairman and his ‘yes man’ manager is in the exact same boat He’s actually had the nerve to blame the fans today for the lack of atmosphere It’s always everybody else’s fault other than his, Cornet came on mid week and provided a brilliant assist, yet that earns him nothing and instead Fornals gets brought on instead of him, Absolutely no common sense to his decisions He’s a charlatan of a football manager
The sad fact is, that as over the moon as I was when i actually saw us win something, the next time I’m going to celebrate in the same way is when this joke of a manger finally gets the boot

We are not getting relegated and contract will not be renewed at season end.
Then Tim will get his man in whoever that is.

Fuck I hate moyes.
Every other fucking week, my son and spend 6 hours, pay through thr nose for travel to the ground that I've already spent nearly a grand on 2 season tickets again this year, to spend time in the cold and wet to watch that.uninspiring dogahit, miserable, boring, negative, anti football. The atmosphere is worse now than in a long while because from.whay i can tell.everybody is so fucked off. For a couple of minutes into the 2nd half the guy next to me and I were shocked that it was almost pure silence.
The players we've got should be able.to produce better than that. But they've had any adventure beaten out of them. Only kudos has thr despite to move forward at pace, and I'm sure it's only time before moyes beats that out of him too.
And the best bit is,.I get to do it again, and again.
Don't we go to, dare I say it... enjoy ourselves? Isn't that why we pay and invest the time and considerable effort? It's fuckining miserable at the moment and feels.like an absolute chore.
