Used to love Heinz Mulligatawny as a kid, with plenty of crusty bread. Now, it's on a list of things like, for example, Chinese takeaway, which I really fancy before I've had it, I pig it down once I've got it, and then (almost immediately afterwards) even the smell of it makes me feel ill.

22 quid a kilo for cheese for toast that float on soup is an ABERRATION.
Cheddar and Gouda is the way forward.

Lots of onions sitting in the garden so onion soup for mom sounds like a great idea.
Gruyère was pretty cheap in the UK
£16.60/kg at Aldi for AOP Swiss Gruyère
At least compared to 53 CND/kg for the same.

I like the Heinz version, and I used to like the minestrone they did, which I’m sure years ago had meat in it, then it became veggie. Or did I imagine that?

Was all the rage in North America 15-20 years ago.
I could do without the apple but other than that pretty nice in -20C, living as a student in the basement of an old house.

Years ago when I was at Tech College I worked at a local pub at the weekends helping out in the kitchen etc, remember this soup, the Chef would combine whatever was usable in the fridge, bits of cooked meats, vegetables, bits of other soups etc, boil it all up with some lentils and then puree it…………….And that was then on the menu as the Soup of the day, Mulligatawny!
