Re: Bilic
they dont have VAR do they?

No, but goal line technology, which communicates to the ref, when the ball goes over the goal line.

Beaten 2-1 at home by Swansea last night conceding in the 98th min.
Were actually playing 20mins of injury time as the players had to go off when the refs communication equipment failed. Not sure why that should stop the game .... they dont have VAR do they?

Shame to see Bilic part of the managerial merry-go-round.

That's fine, but maybe the problem lies elsewhere other than the managers, they can't all be shit surely?

Randomly noticed last night that one of Bilic back room staff from his time with us is now the manager of Dortmund

Re: Bilic
Watford have worked out that there really isn’t a major benefit to loyalty in football and have gone for it. Fair play.

Players get sold or released if they are not performing or a better one comes along but there is a weird notion that clubs should stick with managers to achieve mediocrity. That is mainly pushed by managers and their friends in the media.

If you can’t push on, get off the pot and give someone else a try. The days of “they were about to sack Ferguson but for Mark Robins goal and then look what happened” are long gone.

If Bilic proves a success he stays. If it turns to shit early on then he goes. Either way Watford remain a championship and occasional premier league club regardless.

Re: Bilic
Surely these Watford managers are on very short contracts or have clauses where they can be sacked with minimal payout for not meeting targets?
I know Roy Hodgson was just contracted for the back end of last season but surely must have been close to the sack when he lost 10 home games in a row I think it was.

Cant think why fitness is a problem for Bilic teams ..... is he still employing his OAP former long jumper to keep the whipper snappers in trim?

"I get the impression he goes into a job full of enthusiasm, works hard, gets results, but then slacks off. Could be wrong, just an impression I get,"

I have heard that said about him from people close to him. He is good at motivating players to perform. But not so good at installing discipline.

Re: Bilic
If Dicks is your fitness coach then you will have problems.

I agree about the fitness...I think that goes when his enthusiasm goes, Not working the players hard enough.

Watford are a fucking weird club.
Sacking managers literally every 2-3 months.
Managers must rub their hands together, signing a deal knowing you will be getting paid off in the next few months.

I think the enthusiam is there until the results drive it out of him but there was not enough tactical knowhow and especially fitness man-management to kept the results coming.

That is what I hope has matured/matures at some point.

Zico - Edin Terzic has gone on to be be manager at Dortmund. I reckon Bilic got that one right

We had some very decent results under Slav Liverpool comes to mind and of course the farewell win over the Red cnuts.
I wish him well.

Re: Bilic
I think Slav is a decent manager but I would question the coaching staff that he surrounds himself with. Loved Dicksy as a player but not sure he was that good a coach.

Will be 1 good season followed by a terrible season and the sack, just like evey other job he's had.
