I used shag this girl who lived in Pimlico in the mid 80s. I remember a well dodgy pub the Greyhound there full of criminal Arthur Daley and Waterman types.

Nice bit of nostalgia seeing the old motors etc, Fuck me London was filthy then.

I worked on the Shane Ritchie one in 2008, crashing a Range Rover into a black cab somewhere in the City.

Drove all the way from Inverness for this days work! God I was keen then.

The repeat fees must come in useful to the casts of Minder. Shown twice a day most weeks of the year. As soon as the Ray Daley ones reach the end ,back they go to the Denis Waterman series. Nice little pension for a couple of West Ham fans I see. I expect the families of those that have died will inherit these fees?

Seen some decent episodes of the later series. I like seeing the old cars as well.

"I still warch all the old episides now just out of nostalgia and a throwback to the London i grew up in."

I caught an episode the other week. I was thinking the same thing. In just a generation it has vanished. All aspects of it: the humour, the accents, the characters, the nightlife, the cafes.

I auditioned for that role, along with every other male actor aged between 27 and 35. I'd have been bloody awful.

Cant believe noone has mentioned the 2009 Channel 5 version with Shane Ritchie (SHANE RITCHIE) as Arthurs nephew or something.
Did 6 episodes before cancelling a Christmas special and a second series.
Sounds like it was worse than those with drippy RAY

Gary Webster picked me up in his minicab about 3 years after he appeared in Minder.
I think he was married to Anthea Turners sister so that dodgy husband of hers probably gave him business advice.
I loved it with Terry and Arthur but didnt like the Ray Daley replacement.

Love Minder because it reminds me of my Dad, he absolutely loved it and I used to watch with him.

Unfortunately he recorded every episode and watched them repeatedly when he was in his 70s along with Get Some In (reminded him of NS in HK in the RAF for some reason) and Yes Minister/PM

Chisholm was definitely the best of the police characters

I enjoy the Ray Daley years as well. When I watch any of those episodes, I tend to find I'm missing Chisholm and Jones more than I do Terry. It was a shame that Patrick Malahide decided to leave at the same time. It would have been funny to see Ray and Chisholm spar off against each other.
My cousin married a geezer who was the spitting image of Gary Webster back then.

I'm also going to be controversial here. I never got into Minder regardless. Don't know why cos everyone else did!

I actually really enjoyed Minder with him in, some cracking storylines.

Don't get me wrong Arthur and Terry was the perfect combo but the last series was getting a bit silly.

The first episode of the new " regime " was great. All of Arthurs rivals heard Terry had gone so started muscling in on Arthurs patch and it was just about to end with him getting a pasting when his nephew stepped in and kicked five bells out of 2 blokes.

" He's family "

I enjoyed the series they made.

Ray was to Minder, what Cassandra was to OFAH.

It was deffo the Terry and Arfur relationship that made the original series

Re: The later Minder episodes featuring RAY.
Minder was one of the great tv series but Dennis Waterman made exactly the right decision to stop when he did.
Obviously desperation to continue on with the dismal RAY.
No charisma, none of the prior Arthur/Terry chemistry.
Like a turd in the punchbowl.
RAY was an insipid wimp who looked like a Spurs fan who would have got BATTERED as a Minder
