Nobody else could imbue the simple word "Hello" wiith so much meaning.
98 is a pretty amazing age (same age as my grandmother went) given the typical lifestyle of his youth.
My grandmother finally gave up smoking aged 85 but still had the odd celebration cigarillo.

Loved the characters he played. “Ding dong”, “lovely filly” type lines :-). He was more “I say” and “Rather” when he encountered a “lovely filly”. Terry Thomas, Leslie Phillips all gone. The end of the misogynistic era :-(
