Re: Freddie Potts
I like what I've seen of him, I think he has to play matches. I look at how well Cullen is playing for Burnley and I think Potts is better at his age. He does need to be stronger and improve his anticipation. For a club outside the top spots there has to be a place for him to learn and progress. Jus...

Re: If Potter would get sacked who would you want IN to replace him?
Marco Silva would be my shout. Plays attractive football, is used to having to get a tune out of an average team. Not a chance Sullivan and him would get on. If not him then the Bournemouth manager Iraola as despite being a small fish they constantly perform well in games even if they don't win all ...

Re: West Ham vs Chelsea | PL | 22.08.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
We have been here so many times where we should lose heavily but somehow scrape a result and then go back to losing again. You just can't predict but if you looked at the teams and their qualities, Chelsea should win easily. I think Chelsea will win but maybe not as big a scoreline as they should ha...

Re: Sunderland vs West Ham Utd | PL | 16.8.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
It didnt look any better seeing the highlights this morning. Potter doesnt seem to see that his system isnt working with these players. Or maybe he does but wants to force Sullivans hand to get him some midfielders. Sometimes you just have to change your side to get results. I cant say that I saw a...

Re: Sunderland vs West Ham Utd | PL | 16.8.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Absolutely spineless performance. Got nowhere near them. Absolutely spanked by a really poor side. Given we are selling several next week if it's to be believed this side is going to be even weaker. This team has been absolutely ruined and has a negative, passive manager. Kilman should be nowhere...

Did anyone think any different seeing that lineup. What a fucking terrible opening fixture against tin pot opposition. The team has offered nothing. Created nothing, looked exposed and slow.

Re: Sunderland vs West Ham Utd | PL | 16.8.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
Real lack of quick progressive passing. It's all slowing it down to keep the ball. Possession in your own half isnt winning a game. We are unable to press and it looks like we are playing 5 at the back the whole game. Wing backs totally ineffective so far.

Re: Community Shield
Thought it was a good watch. Palace deserved their win in the end. I just like the way they set out to play and with players like Eze they have some magic in the midfield. Even Will Hughes when he came on looked really good. They pressed Liverpool, they were able to beat Liverpool's press and play b...
Re: Antonio
He's a character for sure. I think the apparent ego masks the real him. Cant deny he has been amazing for us but really last two seasons he has been poor even before the crash. He was at his best when he could run, take on players and jump for headers. He is just an Akinfenwa now relying on strength...

Re: Lille sold out?
So the moaning can carry on. The positive for me was that Potter did change something and we came back late to grab a draw. It wasn't a great display, the team looked overrun in midfield and unbalanced. Playing 3 centre backs is fine but you have to have them step out now and again to create an extr...

Re: Lille sold out?
Replays were no help at all on that goal but looked like someone wasn't holding the line to keep Giroud onside. Otherwise our cb's just left him criminally unmarked in the box. Wan Bissaka lack of concentration. Defense pushed up to play offside and he carried on tracking his man back. Goo...

Re: West Ham Vs Everton | Friendly | 30.7.25 23:30 | Match Thread
I am still struggling to see what system and style we are trying to play. We have wing backs but don't use them, we play long hopeful balls or we attack with no forward options at times. Too much playing the ball across the back sloppily too. Make no mistake this was a turgid Everton side but we gif...

Re: Freddie Potts
Not seen that much of him but what I do see is a player who moves into space, has awareness and is happy to play the ball first time. Given more game time with some regular team mates I think he would give the ball away less and hopefully not convert to always look for the simple pass backwards. Squ...

Re: Time for massive protests against David Sullivan!
He 100 per cent needs to be held to account for the mess he has made of the club since he came in. He will no doubt point to the European success we had. I look at many of the other clubs that have gone down the foreign ownership route and been an utter mess. It's rare it works out that the owners i...

https://x.com/westhamfootball/status/1949070572039627188?t=qiTm65lZ9E4EbEXbB4YklQ&s=19 To be honest it's always the players decision. Every time you try and keep a player who wants away then you will lose out and usually end up doing a worse deal. I wouldn't want to play in a league either whe...

Re: Tragic Diouf v Scarles
I think Scales will develop better not being under pressure of having to be consistent as young players rarely are. Diouf looked nervous and tentative last night but give him a chance to bed into the team, get used to the levels and what the manager wants.

Been awful all round. His kicking is atrocious. Have to wonder if he is going to be our starting keeper on this showing. No wonder they are trying to sign one.

Re: West Ham vs Manchester United | Pre-Season Friendly | 26.07.2025
Well we have been outplayed but Man Utd havent really done an awful lot either. Penalty a gift from a keeper we have seen is suspect and less than commanding in the area. Disappointing than Bowen and Fullkrug have no service. Wan Bissaka our best player. We lack sharpness and cohesion. Midfield is...

Re: Lawless London
Its far more important for the Police to focus on crimes that need little effort to solve and they can make money from like policing social media or fining people for driving 2 mph more than 20. London is a cesspit these days. Don't get me wrong there has always been crime and disorder but this is ...

Re: Potter Out
Potter may well be good at working with average players and the odd flair player and building a system that works with them but I'm yet to be convinced he can build and play a side which includes strong personalities and genuine talent that only shines in certain setups. He was a huge flop at Chelsea...

Re: West Ham v Forest - 18 May - Match Thread
The football is disjointed and so so slow. No pace or invention. I'll be pleased when this is over. Honestly cant say that there are any good signs under these manager. Still give up soft goals and even more shot shy. Coufal played his heart out today. I would have loved to have seen him score. Fab...

Re: Squad Building for 25/26
I think most of us can see where this is likely going to go. Almost certain relegation next year. We are going to have a huge fire sale, pension off the rest of the fringe players and end up with a team of average new players who have been picked by Sullivan and his mates with some cheap kids mixed ...

Re: Graham Potter
Good summary Nutsin. Potter reverted to a back 4 and got central midfield wrong relying on the slowest double pivot central midfield in the Premiership. A back 3 seems a better fit but also when Paqueta dropped deeper we had 3 in the central mid and stopped Brentford having so much space to run int...

Re: West Ham vs Southampton | PL | 19.4.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
I’d bin 7 of those starters at the end of the season. Areola Coufal Emerson JWP Soler Paqueta Kudus All are a waste of space Agree, I'd add more to that. The rot started under Moyes and we are an anti football side that cant even muster a performance against the bottom side who are relegated. I'd ...
