Re: What other sports teams do you support
Wils, saw a Besiktas youth game in Levent, as have friends whose son was playing for them. Approx 50 people watching, flares, fire crackers (thought the linesman would have a nervous breakdown) and the arrival of 2 police vans. For a youth game....

Re: What other sports teams do you support
Used to go and watch Exeter Falcons speedway team in the 1970s. They won the national league in those years, when there were more well known and established teams around, a lot of them including the Falcons have folded though. They got stitched up by the local council when the ground was taken over ...

Re: For WHO's birders
Used to love birds coming into the garden, but stopped trying to feed them years back as the cats were knocking off too many of them Really miss robins especially, as it got to the point of them tapping on the window early winter mornings for food. The pond has attracted a toad in the last couple we...

Re: Sullivan out!
Combining their time at Brum as well as here, are there any other owners in the entire history of the game, who can match their record for getting relegated from the top flight? I’d be very surprised if there were. 3 relegations in 5 years is certainly something that’s never been ‘achieved’ by anyon...

Toms, if you (or any others) are interested in that ice bucket thing, Qianly do a bronze galvanised one on Amazon for 24 quid. Barst water pump with LED lighting is also 24 quid. All you need then is some water plants and some bricks to balance the pump near the top of the water. Bung in a few water...

Re: The Intelligence Revolution
I think the crux of problems we'll be facing soon, will be down to those with the wealth and power taking Orwell's 1984 as a fantastic blueprint for the future, as opposed to the nightmare it was intended to portray.

If anyone’s toyed with the idea of getting a lwater feature going in their garden, been trying to get something going in the garden that’ll attract frogs and newts, but got nowhere on that front, other than keeping water snails alive. On the other hand though, a really good thing anyone can put toge...

Re: Who is the worst owner/chairman of West Ham in the last 50 years and why?
Wasn’t Iceland the worst hit country in the financial crisis, or a lot worst hit than most others? Their intentions were good and I think they had a genuine appreciation of the fanbase as well. Mike’s analogy is a good one. Let’s not forget that Sullivan also came out with the pearler of “the role o...

Sally Nugent is who you're thinking of.
Her daily exchanges with Carol the weather lady are worth the licence fee alone.

MA, I agree with what you’re saying, I don’t think that particular thing is real, but the possibility of similar certainly is. The country doesn’t have a “handle” as to who is entering the country, as is patently clear.

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
A small % of Afghans are ISIS affiliated, so it stands to reason that a small % of their refugees will be the same? Not for a second saying or thinking that the Dewsbury thing is real, but it would be surprising (unfortunately) if there weren’t Afghans in the country now who are affiliated with ISIS...

Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
I think some Pakistanis and Afghans share the same language, as some don’t recognise the borders at all, only their tribal borders, with some of those borders crossing into both countries? ISIS are still active in both countries, so quite plausible that a percentage of Afghan refugees would affiliat...
