I lived just off the King's Road in the mid 90s. Then I'd say you had the posh boozers and the working class boozers full of white working class Chelsea fans. Although I hate the club I had respect for theses fans as they weren't plastic glory hunters. All changed in the 2000s. 

I grew up in Lambeth and pretty much everyone was a Chelsea fan from the Waterloo end to Vauxhall. However, on the Elephant and Castle side up to London Bridge and eastwards it was strictly Millwall. There were pubs around the now trendy Borough Market that were still intimidating Wall hangouts until relatively recently. It was very parochial back in the day! Nobody under 50 would believe it now.

My daughter supports Chelsea and was brought up around Stockwell/Kennington 

When I was growing up it definitely felt like 8 out of 10 were Chelsea. I was Kennington as well.
