Teddy Sheringham is a C###!

When he joined us he told us how West Ham were his boyhood club.

All I have seen from him on social media is how Spurs should do this or do that to avoid relegation.

Has he forgotten that we are also in this dogfight or is the man aC###!?

The players at that time including Etherington and Ginge also invested in a couple of racehorses one of which was subsequently sold for a handsome profit after winning a couple of of group races.

I believe it was named after Teddy's son and called My Boy Charlie which raced in Ireland.

Etherington and Roy Carroll both had well known gambling problems. During our great escape season, Teddy was winning big money off several players, up to 50k a time, one of a few reasons that team spirit was so shit at that time. Curbs put a ban on them playing poker on the team bus but obviously couldn't stop them playing elsewhere. He ended up not speaking to Teddy and basically dropped him from the squad for the rest of the season.

Bumped into him when he was waiting to film something at a place I was working probably about 10 years ago, sat by himself quietly waiting for the people to turn up, gave him a smile and a thumbs up and got it returned, quickly walked over shook his hand and said to him mate, what a fucking career you’ve had. Loved it when you was with us at West Ham.
He looked thoughtful and was nodding his head almost disbelieving, seemed a decent enough sort.

I believe he's a professional poker player as well as being a good golfer. cսnt is probably good at tennis too.

When Matty Etherington was with us and going through a huge gambling addiction where he nearly lost everything and was trying to get help, Sheringham would ring him up and invite him round to win his money back and skint him even more. 

No different to asking your alcoholic mate round to finish off a cheap bottle of vodka you aren't gonna drink. 

Sheringham was a grade a cսnt and hated at the club.

Yep that's how I remember it too, was never seen us one of us or even close, file under Ian Wright and David Speedie, just to a lesser extent. Was a great player and loved a bird/night out , so can't say I have owt against him.

I suspect that, before Teddy hung up his boots, the section in his passport that asked him to state his occupation read "Professional Footballer".

The key there is the word "Professional".

He was under contract at all of the clubs he played for to do a job of work.

The fact that many fans would give their right arm to have such a job is irrelevant.

His contemporaneous football club contract was with his employer at the time and his duty was to do the best he could with the skills he had to help them achieve their aims, no matter who he "supported as a kid".

Yep...he gave his all for WHU ...no complaints from me

Met him in a drunken haze (him) in Villiamoura Portugal in 2011ish..he had a collection of golf cսnt  hangers on with him but  he was a decent enough bloke.

Note how he corrects himself after referring to Spurs as "us". Sounds like he wants to appear impartial but really sees them as being his club. That's not necessarily about supporting them exactly though. He's a Spurs legend and they pay him for ambassadorial duties and he probably gets work as a radio/TV pundit for Spurs matches as well. If they get relegated he'll lose money, and that's all he really gives a toss about.

Not sure why he'd ever mention supporting West Ham as a kid if there wasn't truth to it. Would surely suit him just to say "I've been a Sp*rs fan all my life".

This is from an interview about 10 years ago, when asked who he supports:

"I don’t really support anyone anymore. I supported West Ham as a kid, and then went and played for Millwall as a youngster, then went to Tottenham and Manchester United. I still check the results for all my clubs, but I can’t say I support any specific one."

Pretty clear then that he was a WHU fan.

Obviously he isn’t going to carry on being fanatical about the club when he played for two of our big rivals.
