Running a bit late on this one, but I'll keep it brief. I've a sneaky feeling we beat Villa. Not overly impressed by them man for man, they've had an away trip in Europe, and it's a lot of travelling. Plus with the Bonds memorial pagentry, the whole ground should be up for giving someone a kicking.
Predicted Team
Reckon Nuno reverts to a 4 for this game.
Areola
Wan Bissaka Mavropanos Todibo Diouf
Magassa Potts
Bowen Paqueta Fernandes
Wilson
Subs: Hermansen, Kilman, KWP, Igor, Rodriguez, Irving, Summerville, Fullkrug, Earthy
Not sure what's happened to Luis after a nice cameo vs Liverpool
Predicted Result: Home Win.
West Ham 3 - 1
Aston Villa (Wilson, Bowen, Fernandes)
COYFI!

of course, performances have improved as how could it have got worse but we still have a manager that's happy with the opposition imposing its will on us. happy for them to have the ball, and worst of all, happy to sit back and attempt to defend from the back rather than the front. when I was going, I hated redknapp's sides when they started sitting too deep (and that was very rare), so I don't know how the fuck people are paying season after season for this cowardly surrender ball shit

Man City next week is obviously a bit of a 'mare, but the run that follows - Fulham, Brighton h, Wolves, Forest - is much kinder.
Play as we have the last couple of weeks and we'll take plenty of points.
Think you are right Sweep with a couple of additions in the right areas with that level of commitment we can get some points. We are not the only club losing players to the ACN

Paqueta, he is now the final product to be flogged.
It has helped immensely to get rid of Kilman and Soucek, but it it's not fixed as long as we don't have a striker, a back up winger, a an attacking midfielder.

Competed to an extent against a side in form but you would have thought the penny would have dropped by now, we concede too many goals when we stand off, we can't defend deep, we need to keep the bloody ball as far away from our goal as possible. Nuno bafffles me, the time for Wilson, if not from the start, was straight after the second equaliser where he should have taken Paqueta off and stuck Wilson on. He should also have demanded that we attacked the left side of the pitch but we didn't, taking no advantage at all of the two yellow cards on that side, and we were totally ineffective after their winner, that said you may as well leave your attacking players on because what's Guido going to do attacking wise?! Could do with a Dawson type at the back, we might even score from a corner. We are in trouble, both full backs now at the Afcon, who we going to replace them with Scarles and KWP?

If you have to be 2-3 down at home with ten minutes to go to put any sort of striker on the pitch, you deserve to lose

Emotional stuff Elpo and understandable emotions run high when thinking of Bonzo but “cowards” is not applicable imo. Effort was there but Rodgers, best player in the PL currently, was ultimately the difference. 2 great finishes albeit via Paqueta’s arrogance for one.
like I say, there is somethimg to build on but that Jan window might come too late

The result today isn't about failings by the Manager, or player effort. Purely about a lack of quality in the squad, which is on Moyes, Steidten, Lopetegui, Potter, and Sullivan.
Lack of forward planning with the squad or any concept of renewal/replacement has left us in a desperate place.
whoever was commentator on this game told how when Emery was hired by Villa, their owners offered him a "blank sheet of paper" and told him to write down his vision for creating a successful team they would back him to implement it. If only West Ham, If only!
Our squad is like the team right at the back of the grid in Formula 1 that has built a car from all the discarded parts that most of the other teams were using a couple of years ago. The only positives to take are the efforts of the younger players who are obviously the rookie drivers learning their craft.

Hard to see how we get out of this. We’re getting cut adrift. Given their current positions, those mental fuck ups against Leeds and Brentford have fucked us.
I wouldn’t care but losing Bowen will tough to take, and I think similar about Fernandes who is a proper footballer and could be the heart of our midfield for years if we blag it and stay up

The Cowards of Stratford , cannot even get a win at home in honour of Bonzo. No Pride ,No Guts. Shame on you . Get Summerfield inside a bag of rice soon, before he reports sick again.

Probably the best game we have played for a while but we cant defend, have an awful keeper and dont have a striker. I think we are going to struggle to escape relegation. Dont expect any investment in January. If anything we will sell some to clear wages. Unlike the teams like Sunderland and Forest we cant buy a win.

Paqueta frustrates me because that was a pivotal moment in the game. Villa were good but it was sloppy to let them back in it that easy.

Good performance overall as we looked far more aggressive in and out of possession, but the same defensive frailties leave us with nothing.
Shame we didn’t play like that when we were up against lesser opposition in recent weeks, as we might not be in the bottom three looking like relegation fodder.
Not sure where the next win is coming from.

A better overall performance against an in form Villa team but another disappointing result.
Bowens disallowed goal was a shame but we are still a long way off.
Ref was a bit cunty and I am sick and tired of the commentators bias against us every fucking week, isn’t there one commentator out there that will call a fair game?
Anyway more of the same against City so the agony to continue.
Fuck me we’ve done nothing but get worse since Moyes left. Please make it stop!

That game summed Paqueta up. A luxury player that we cannot be starting every week but have to. Created our second goal with one of his chipped balls into Diouf but then guilty of 3 turnovers in the game and leading to good chances for them and their 2nd goal. The 3rd goal was a worldy and didnt see if anyone of our lot guilty of a turnover or bad decision? . Rogers was the difference in the end.
There’s something to build on because we gave Villa a proper game but our squad weakness shows most weeks and costs us again.
Magassa got stronger as the game went on and him, Todibo, Bowen, Potts and Fernandes were the standouts.
We are cut adrift now unfortunately and no more points soon looking at fixtures.
Btw, imo, cannot lay this one at Nunos feet although some of the “hard of thinking” no doubt will

You make life incredibly hard for yourself when you concede so many soft goals.
If we had a centre back & a centre forward we’d be okay.

Gutted. Deserved a point as said they have squad depth we have nothing on the bench. Need a decent center half alongside Todibo rather than the ricket a game greek

we deserved more against title contenders. No complaints really at the performance, the question is are we hitting some comparative form too late to save us and who aside Leeds can replace us in the bottom 3?. Forest just beat spurs 3-0 so it wont be them. The winners of Brentford vs Leeds go clear. It can all change IF we can go on a run of winning games but we look like being cast further adrift before our next winnable game
Bottom line is we need to start winning games and soon just to be in the fight.
Next game Man City Away

Didn’t see the game unfortunately. But going by some of the comments it looked like the same stuff i said last week. Summerville cant finish his dinner and we have very few finishers in the squad but we are creating. So our season really relies on a decent transfer window.
I like Jimmy, but I’d replace him to survive. We need a left sided goal threat and a striker that can start all our games with no energy issues, Didn’t see what Paq did today playing wise but I hear he lost the ball again and cost us a goal. If we get a good striker and left sided forwarded it will be Jimmy and Paq I’d replace as starters.

January can't come quick enough. Need to be able to bring on quality attacking players and not Soucek and bloody Rodriguez.
