I also have my doubts about that story but what is unarguable is that of the thousands of small boat arrivals, a percentage of them will come from cultures that despise us and our way of life. Whoever 'governs' the country is irrelevant up to a point, those behind the scenes will make decision making almost impossible for any leader unless it falls in line with their take on what line we should be taking.

The fact of the matter is that we have a system of electing the national  government which the general public have come to realise the majority of the electorate do not support.

The first move, in order to get nation and State in alignment, must be a reform of our voting system such that minority governments are an impossibility.

I think that’s the least of our problems. We have a whole state, from the home office to the judiciary which has been captured by demographic that doesn’t believe in the nation state. So even if we do elect a government to work in our interests the state will continue to try and thwart its efforts.

Farage won’t fix this even if he wins a big majority. This is systemic and will need rooting out over years. Cummings has got an understanding of it but I think it’s out of his league too. Popular revolution is probably the best chance. But don’t hold your breath for that.
