Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Yeah at this point, if he's not going to play for us through injury, sulking, or not wanting to get injured and jeopardise his move, then what's the point in holding on to him? We've in essence already lost him but don't have any money for it. No doubt it's just become a point of 'winning or losing' against Flamenco for Sullivan and he's cutting his nose off to spite his face. But again what is the point in keeping a player who is that unhappy? To just say 'I won' one minute thing while it all crashes down around you and the club suffers?
It's pretty low the way Paqueta has gone about this, getting his mates and the other club's chairman involved but just cut your losses and move on. Thanks for that through ball now goodbye. He isn't producing quality enough to make him worth keeping.
I'm willing to bet he just gets sold right at the end of the window so Sullivan conveniently doesn't have to reinvest anything.

Leaving aside the understandable scepticism as to whether JWP would improve them, if he did then that would increase the chances of them taking points from Forest, Palace, Leeds
We need to look up, not down
I think you've taken what was a tongue in cheek post a little too seriously, to be honest.
But as we are discussing it they are only three points behind us. While unlikely, it's not beyond them to have a little run of form and they could easily get 4-5 points from their next four games, some of them at our expense. Wolves just picked up six from their last four. Dr Tottenham up next at home for Burnley, us at home, Palace and Sunderland away. Thus putting themselves right in it with us. If Forest and Palace continue to falter then you have a little group where anything can happen and two stay and two drop. Burnley's form and our form are two totally separate things. Us and they can both be on the heels of the pack- not just one of us. This is the season where you can be in poor form for a sustained time and then a little run of results shoots you up the table.

I did say the other day it can never be down to just one player, unless it's the other way and it's Paqueta, but only when it suits you... Anyway JWP is shit and has only ever been a bang average one trick pony.

Lamadrid is just a punt nothing more.
Assume this means Paqueta?
Normally I'd be against this, but in this instance with our squad being so devoid of quality and needing major surgery and the player in question having been woefully off form and his heart being elsewhere, I think this is probable a decent outcome for the Club. Just have to hope they have a replacement lined up for January as we're short creatviely anyway, that we have funds left over afterwards to put towards an upgrade elsewhere (CB, Wing).
Ultimately, we're likely to go down. Cashing in well on an underperforming star now is not terrible business, much as I love Paqueta and what he can do when on form.
His departure pretty much feels like the end of that Moyes era of relative success.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
We actually need Burnley & Wolves to beat some of the group above us
That would help us catch them and probably bring down the points needed to survive
If we can’t finish above that pair we are down anyway

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
If he does go there can we get permission from the PL for him to play against us or our relegation rivals will have an unfair advantage
In fact if we were signing him Massive would be saying the crackhead is mad for signing a player who hadn't kicked a ball for 4 months and isn't match fit
