Running a bit late on this one, but I'll keep it brief.  I've a sneaky feeling we beat Villa.  Not overly impressed by them man for man, they've had an away trip in Europe, and it's a lot of travelling.  Plus with the Bonds memorial pagentry, the whole ground should be up for giving someone a kicking.

Predicted Team
Reckon Nuno reverts to a 4 for this game.
Areola
Wan Bissaka   Mavropanos   Todibo    Diouf

Magassa Potts

Bowen   Paqueta  Fernandes

Wilson

Subs: Hermansen, Kilman, KWP, Igor, Rodriguez, Irving, Summerville, Fullkrug, Earthy
Not sure what's happened to Luis after a nice cameo vs Liverpool

Predicted Result: Home Win.  West Ham 3 - 1 Aston Villa (Wilson, Bowen, Fernandes)

We deserved something out of today, but they were able to make changes, while our players tired. We definitely should have made changes about five to ten minutes earlier, and then some of the ones who came on were the wrong ones and it was already too late. We don’t have a lot of options, but Wilson especially should have been on earlier, and if you are going to take Summerville off at least bring on Earthy. The referee and at least one of the linesmen were atrocious, which seems to be standard.

There’s plenty of time left in the season, and we are showing some fight, but it feels like this is the worse possible season in living memory to be two of four teams to join Wolves in relegation.

Not sure if Igor can play left back … not against Brighton obviously
Brighton have Baleba away & Fulham Iwobi
Both key players in their set up
Those two home games particularly are absolute must wins
Bassey and Chukwueze will both be missing for Fulham too, Sangare for Forest.

Why Rodriguez on the bench instead of Earthy who can keep the ball?
Rodriquez is like a cockroach that we seemingly will never get rid of

I thought both CBs were ok today, our problem is no one is ever in the box so we delay crossing it. We need someone in and fast.
First goal Mavrapanos needs to be stronger & win the header, second goal they were allowed miles of space unchallenged in the 18 yard box.
Theres a reason we concede so many goals.
The second goal is on Paqueta

Giving the ball away - yes. But that’s no excuse for standing 5 yards off players and giving them space to take a touch and pick a spot.

Well, what a game. A touching tribute to Bonzo the off we went and scored straightaway.

A victory against the best current form team in the PL  wasn’t to be and the big  difference between the teams was that they had Morgan Rogers and we didn’t. We are down unless we can overhaul Leeds because the other two clubs below are almost certainties for relegation and that leaves us battling the tykes for 17th place.

But now we're losing a couple of decent players for a month, hopefully bringing in new ones - but they need to be bang on it from day 1. Today was the first time ive been worried we might go down, not because of this match but i think it dawned on me that its christmas next week and we're running out of games.

Those leeds and brentford games will haunt us, but thats not why we're in this mess now.

The Leeds one was more grating. He was repeating a mistake, which is worse than making it the first time, and Brentford, a bit like Palace, frequently seem to have our number at home.

One saving grace is that Fulham, Forest, Wolves and Brighton all have players missing for AFCON and some of them are relatively good/important for them at the same time we have Diouf and AWB missing.

Off the top of my head, the foul by Onana on Magassa at the beginning of the 2nd half was very questionable. He had about 3 days to pull out of it but clearly intentionally left his foot in. Not even a yellow. The resulting free kick (I think) the ball just bounces off the Villa players head for a corner. Inexplicably he gave a free kick that nobody can tell you what for. Kamara had a couple of opportunities for a 2nd yellow, but by the corner flag as Summerville ran away from he cynically pulled him back by his shorts. As straightforward a booking as you get.

Isn’t it kind of the job of a referee to see potentially game changing moments and make the correct decision?

Actually against the form team in the division I thought today was our best performance of the season
Can we just start a striker & have another lined up to sign on January 1?
22 games to go and need 25 pts to get to 38 which should be enough
If we can’t do that we deserve to go
We are definitely playing better but need to be sharper in both boxes

Might help if we can find a ref not from the David Coote group of gay junkie Northerners
Atrocious today & gave us nothing
The ref was bad?

Utter bollocks feet was there, not sure if you know but has assured everyone he was fine.

At the moment it feels like every time we score a goal we're waiting for the opposition to score before we react.

We need a 3 goal lead and then hopefully ride out the game 3-2 or 3-3.

Because Paqueta fucks up which he did it doesn't mean everyone else gets a free pass for not defending better
