London Stadium Attendances at the Bowl

Post stubbo-admin »

So much as most think he's a wind up cսnt (and he clearly revels in that) Whetstone has produced an article for Iain Dale that lays bare the real attendance figures at our 'World Class' home.

Each week the attendance given is the tickets sold figure, but the fans that turn up are quite a different thing.

You can read the article here, but in average since 23/24 season, whilst 62,400 is what is what is published most weeks, the real attendance is typically nearer to 50,000, with averages dipping below 50k this season for the games that data is available for via FOIA.

Just another example of the shambolic state of that stadium and the draw of the world class team the board have worked so effectively to have playing within it.

How many league games would the average season ticket holder not attend?
Maybe 2 or 3? What would that work out as a percentage? 10-15%
Clearly some have given up, but maybe the  'normal' level of non attendance is magnified as the stadium is so much bigger.

We only needed a 45000 and have a 60000 plus.

Yep, that seems plausible. As opposed to growing the support, the board have alienated thousands and completely lost thousands more.  As embarrassing as it is to admit it, of the tickets that go to ticket trader the only ones that are ever likely to sell are those for games with the biggest clubs - and most are bought by football tourists or away fans mostly sitting on thier hands.

That makes for about 15 -20 % of empty seats and when you get a glimpse of the stadium during the game that look about right.
