Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much. Breaking Bad, Homeland done Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?"
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
As said before not one for box sets usually and dumped Lazarus after a couple of episodes but I must say I'm hooked on Sky's "All Her Fault" to the extent I want to skip right through to the last episode. Pretty well done.
Just an update. Wow, finished it in three days and had no idea where that was going. Slow in places but stick with it, quite a series.

Under the Banner of Heaven is good - just need to stick past the first episode - it's on ITVX and based on a true crime story in the 80s involving Mormonism.
Alpha Males on Netflix is in Spanish but the first couple of series are a good laugh - currently on season 3.

Im halfway through Trespasses.
if youre into the 70s, the troubles and sex - its right up your street. Probably won't be a happy ending but its an easy watch, 4 x 50 min episodes, and Gillian Anderson does a great turn.

Mrs V is watching Blue Lights, I must admit I only caught a bit of it, but are all the ones in charge women? I did ask her and if it was a BBC production, she told me to fuck off.

Blue Lights is maybe the best thing from the BBC right now, brilliant show, season 1 and 2 where superb and so far, season 3 (4 episodes in) is even better.
Hope we get a season 4..........
Like Slow Horses as well, and the first 2 seasons are excellent and the best IMO, but getting a bit stale now, still a good watch, just not as good as before.

Currently watching The Last Frontier on Apple TV.
It's alright is probably the best I can say about it, although I'm only 2 episodes in.

Pluribus, created by Vince Gilligan, is out today.
Good reviews, so far.

There just doesn't seem to be any talent like there was back then. It's like the interviews with the Hollywood Stars, Cagney, Jimmy Stewart, Kirk Douglas, even now watching those interviews there was an air of mystique. Maybe it's all this socal media etc, where you get to know about everyone and everything, and half of it is bullshit. I suspect a lot of them were lost when the BBC used to over write tapes for space.

On Iplayer there are several. Peter Ustinov interviews are very funny and Hollywood Men is fascinating. They really don't make film stars like that anymore. Jimmy Stewart, Kirk Douglas, James Cagney, pity I can't find the full interviews anywhere.
zico, you must have seen this one? It's great

Not a Parkie one but this interview with Tom Waits that inspired Heath Ledgers Joker always fascinates me.

I’ve been rewatching Rescue Me, the firefighter drama comedy set just after 9/11. It’s very funny, definitely made for blokes and arguably Denis Leary’s best work .
